Police Captain Shot in Englewood: Source

NBC Chicago

At least 100 police officers have converged on the Englewood neighborhood Tuesday in what appears to be a standoff after a Chicago police captain was shot.

Police have been surrounding a building in the 7200 block of South Lowe Avenue since around 6 p.m.

A source tells NBC 5 that the police captain was shot from above, and suffered injuries to his head, cheek, shoulder and back. His exact condition is unknown, although he was said to be coherent.

The officer is being treated at Stroger Hospital, where a large contingent of police officers were seen outside. Mayor Rahm Emanuel was also seen at the hospital.

Police have armored vehicles on the scene, and several rounds of automatic gunfire were heard coming from the building.

NBC 5 has crews on the scene and will provide updates as information becomes available.

  1. WOW! Just look at how fast they work when it’s one of their own that gets shot. When it’s anyone else, they just write a report and put it away in the filing cabinet.

  2. So is this Frein 2.0? Are we going to see more cop shootings like this now? Maybe they needed another police shooting because the Frein thing isn’t panning out for them anymore.

  3. Nothing rattles the cops hornet nest like a good old fashion ambush. The guy doing the shooting is as good as dead. That is one of the cops blue codes. If you shoot a cop you’re dead.

  4. And so it begins

hey.. they were warned ..but still thought their jackbooted ways were going to make them gods …ehhhhhhh wrong !

anyone in this country that is awake has already come to the reality that the cops arnt needed and arnt working in our interests anyways

will they learn? Nope..i dont think so

kinda hard with an IQ lower than sh*t
    lol

  5. Nothing makes my day like reading about another citizen taking out another stinking pig bastard.

This is how it ALWAYS begins. When cops are being targeted by the citizenry, you’re on the brink of a revolution, and we’ve had enough similar incidents to show that this sentiment is spreading rapidly. Whomever shot the stinking pig is a hero in my book.

I love to read articles about dead cops in the morning…… it smells like…. VICTORY!!!!
