Well, that was a slick and glitzy video, and overall basically irresponsible technology promotion. Here are some questions requiring full and complete answers before this technology is unleashed (yeah, I know, it’s just another item on humanity’s wish list versus profits of cabal non-human scum):
1. What is the shedding factor of nano-coated items?
2. What are the health (more likely ill-health) effects of inhaled nano-coat sheddings? Not just to humans, but to animals, as well as coating of plants with nano sheddings?
3. What are the effects of discarded nano-coated articles to the air and soil, to the soil’s microbial life, and to air and ground water? Do they compost? (Probably not.) Do they break down in any way? (Probably not.) Can organic earth life, including us, exist long term with such nano contamination? (Probably not.)
Wow! Negativity? Tell me …. where are the possibilities then? Got any better ideas?
. . .
Sorry, Cathleen, my criticism is not pointed at you, but rather at more conscienceless scientists who do things because they can and are paid for it, those that pay the scientists to do it, and those that promote and profit from this technology, all of them without considering the harmful effects on us and our environment.
I looked up the Material Data Safety Sheet on Rustoleum Neverwet (http://www.rustoleum.com/MSDS/ENGLISH/274234.PDF). The liquid and vapor are extremely flammable and explosive, and it’s not to be stored where the temperature could rise above 120°F. Exposure by eye contact, ingestion, inhalation, and skin contact and absorption are dangerous, as well. Occupational or acute or chronic exposure can cause narcosis, weakness, fatigue, mental confusion, blurred vision, and permanent brain and nervous system damage. Its use requires explosion-proof ventilation equipment and/or an air-purifying, positive pressure air supplied respirator. When disposed of, it is not to be allowed to enter waterways, wastewater, soil, storm drains, or sewer systems… so essentially it can’t be safely disposed of.
And this stuff is being sold over the counter. Good grief. I’ll pass on it.
For better or worse, we humans are one life form among millions who evolved on this planet in the presence of a limited array of molecules and the genetic codes that are capable of using — or defending against — these molecules. Nanotechnology is creating all-new molecules which have never before existed on this planet. We have no idea what nanotech is going to do to lifeforms on this planet, and nanotech promoters have been as opposed to researching the possible effects of their inventions as GMO promoters have been against researching theirs. Experience so far has been that when inventors don’t want to look into possible negative effects of their inventions it’s because, in their hearts, they know the effects could very well be devastating.
My bet is that not one of the products in this video have been thoroughly tested for what happens when these exotic molecules get loose in the environment. Perhaps you would like to volunteer as a test subject for what happens when this stuff slips past YOUR blood-brain boundary?
