News 4 San Antonio – by Michael Locklear
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Observer said Sunday it has no plans to publish the names and addresses of every police officer in the city. The clarification followed an announcement a day earlier that drew criticism from across the country.
Stephanie Zarriello, the publisher and editor-in-chief of the weekly tabloid, said Saturday that the staff of the Observer “are looking into the future prospects of publicizing the names and the addresses of all San Antonio Police Department officers in order to protect our community.”
She said another media organization’s erroneous headline was picked up nationwide: “Texas newspaper plans to publish names, addresses of police officers.” Her comment came at a news conference following the death of Antronie Scott, an unarmed man shot and killed by an SAPD officer Thursday night.
Zarriello clarified Sunday that the Observer has no plans to follow through with the threat and that her intent was to “make an officer think twice before shooting so fast and killing an unarmed person.”
The Observer and its small staff were overwhelmed with phone calls and voicemails Sunday from California, Florida, New York and other states, Zarriello said. She said some people voiced death threats.
Many on social media suggested publishing her address. One Twitter user said she was “effectively placing a target on all #lawenforcement in San Antonio.”
Further blurring the line between cops being our employees, or our overlords.
Guess what? I don’t care what their names are, because EVERY ONE of them is a brutal, sadistic criminal that deserves the noose.
Hide their names. Protect the criminal bastards from the public that pays dearly for their presence; both financially, and with their blood.
We’ll get every last one of ’em, and it’s probably only wise to wipe out any offspring these sick bastards may have sired, too.
You gathered all of society’s sickest individuals together and put badges on them for us so they’re easier to identify. Who gives a rat’s rectum what their name is? (was)
Doesn’t matter
If you know thier name and know what county they live in
It’s just a matter of searching tax records if they own property
even the criminals have to pay taxes just like you and I , and that’s a matter of public records
Have fun people , make up your local lists
May need it someday
“… her intent was to “make an officer think twice before shooting so fast and killing an unarmed person.”
Wasted effort.
The only cure for the pig mentality is a lead lobotomy.
“… she was “effectively placing a target on all #lawenforcement in San Antonio.”
Again, wasted effort (if that was indeed her goal).
They do that well enough on their own.
