September 2014 Firearms Sales Checks Second Highest September on Record

Buckeye Firearms Association

The September 2014 NSSF-adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) figure of1,024,272 is the second highest September on record for the 16-year-old system, even with a decrease of 1.0 percent compared to the September 2013 NSSF-adjusted NICS figure of 1,034,701. For comparison, the unadjusted September 2014 NICS figure of 1,447,485 reflects a 4.0 percent increase from the unadjusted NICS figure of 1,392,423 in September 2013.

The adjusted NICS data were derived by subtracting out NICS purpose code permit checks used by several states such as Connecticut, Illinois, and Utah for CCW permit application checks as well as checks on active CCW permit databases.

Though not a direct correlation to firearms sales, the NSSF-adjusted NICS data provide a more accurate picture of current market conditions. In addition to other purposes, NICS is used to check transactions of firearms sales and transfers on new and used handguns and long guns.

  1. This is wonderful news…and let’s hope that October 2014 sales set all records for gun and ammo sales. There is but little doubt that the dark cabal of the NWO is behind this Ebola outbreak….confiscation of wealth (bank bail ins?) and forced vaccinations are no doubt behind the Ebola terrorist attack….(I’m sure there will be no Ebola in Israel – just as they are under no threat os ISIS in Israel – because they are running both )Americans must arm up and be prepared to fight against the “mark of the beast” which will be given in the Ebola Vaccine…..and even if this does not come to pass everyone should spend as much $$$ as they can on guns and ammo if for no other reason than to piss off TPTB that want to take guns from general population…………..ARM UP AMERICA!

  2. People are waking up. I wonder how this compares to television sales.

“In addition to other purposes, NICS is used to check transactions of firearms sales and transfers on new and used handguns and long guns.”

They’re trying to help you forget that a NICS check was only supposed to be preventing criminals from buying guns, and that a firearm can be sold without a NICS check, or any paperwork whatsoever, between two residents of the same state (used handguns and long guns). What the “other purposes” are is anybody’s guess.
