I may not have always agreed with Helen Thomas’s points of views, but I did admire her spunk and unwavering dedication to reporting the news and asking the questions no one else dared to.
She was ballsy enough to be made ‘Dean of the White House Press Corps’, not just for her length of time reporting, but her no nonsense belief that leaders and government be held accountable for their actions.
President Obama: Thomas “never failed to keep presidents – myself included – on their toes.”
She was the first female president of the White House Correspondents Association. She was the longest member of the White House Prees Corps.
She drew fire for her comment that “Israel should “get the hell out of Palestine.
Bill Clinton said, “Thomas “was a pioneering journalist who, while adding more than her share of cracks to the glass ceiling, never failed to bring intensity and tenacity to her White House beat.”
Her tenure lasted from President Eisenhower to Obama.
