Should children witness childbirth: Here’s your answer.

Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call. The house was very dark so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-yr old girl to hold a flashlight high over her mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby…

Very diligently, Kathleen did as she was asked. Heidi pushed and pushed and after a little while, Connor was born.

The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom. Connor began to cry.

The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help and asked the wide-eyed 3-yr old what she thought about what she had just witnessed..

Kathleen quickly responded, ‘He shouldn’t have crawled in there in the first place…..smack his butt again!’

  1. helped deliver my only daughter , and personally cut the cord , awesome experience in my opinion

  2. In November 1992 we had our daughter at home, on a blanket on the grass in front of the house…it was 80 degrees out, and while my husband cut the cord and all, our 3 and 1/2 year old son was keeping the flies off our daughter as she started nursing…

  3. My son was born at home, I tried to catch him but was told in no uncertain terms…(she was on hands and knees) ‘if you stop rubbing my back I will f@!#in kill you’…so his 6 year old sister cut the cord under the midwifes guidance. It was awesome.

    1. HAHAHA LOL! Mental picture received! 🙂 Only cut the cords for my 2 girls but it was the start of love I’ve never known. Wish it lasted forever. A trip down memory lane for me.
