Six killed in Columbus, Ohio police car crash

MSNBC – by Alexander Smith

A car and a police cruiser collided at an intersection northwest of central Columbus, Ohio, early Friday, killing six people and injuring a police officer, officials said.

The police officer was responding to reports of a robbery at a McDonald’s in the suburb of Upper Arlington, police told the Columbus Dispatch newspaper.

A dispatcher from Perry Township Police told NBC News all six fatalities were in the other vehicle.

Local police union boss Jason Pappas said one of those killed was a small child, according to an Associated Press report. Pappas added that the officer was in a stable condition despite sustaining a serious head injury.

The dead were a male driver and five female passengers, the Associated Press said, citing local media.

The crash closed Riverside Drive in both directions at the intersection with Fishinger Road, where the accident happened shortly after 1.30 a.m. local time, the Columbus Dispatch reported. The road was expected to remain closed throughout the morning rush-hour.

  1. cost of a robbery in a mcdonald’s less than 1K.
cost of destroyed property. less than 120K.

cost of lost lives – ?

the headline should be – a family was denied food, thus the robbery, another family was murdered as collateral.
