South Carolina man, ‘gun hoarder,’ had more than 7,000 stolen firearms, police say

AL.com – by Erin Edgemon

Between 7,000 and 10,000 stolen guns were seized over the weekend at a Pageland, S.C. house and warehouse.

The Chesterfield County, S.C. Sheriff’s Office arrested the owner of the house, Brent Nicholson, in connection to the stolen goods, WBTV reported. The exact charges are unknown at this time.

Nicholson.pngPolice described Nicholson as a “gun hoarder” who hired others to steal guns for him. There’s no evidence he ever sold of any of the stolen firearms.

The vast majority of the weapons are hunting rifles and shotguns.

The seizure is part of an ongoing investigation involving multiple states and law enforcement agencies.

The raid was conducted after deputies went to Nicholson’s home on Friday to serve a subpoena and noticed what appeared to be stolen goods in his front yard.

Nicholson was arrested earlier last week for trafficking opium and heroin. No details on this arrest were provided.

The stolen guns filled one tractor-trailer, police say, and the recovered ammunition filled another. Other recovered items include 150 chainsaws, four-wheelers and taxidermy supplies.

According to the report, agents will go through the recovered items piece-by-piece starting on Monday. They hope to return the stolen goods to their owners.

  1. “The raid was conducted after deputies went to Nicholson’s home on Friday to serve a subpoena and noticed what appeared to be stolen goods in his front yard.”

Right. The guy’s got tons of guns stashed at his place, and he’s going to simply leave stolen sh#t right out in plain sight for all to see?

“They hope to return the stolen goods to their owners.”

    Except the guns.

  2. “Nicholson was arrested earlier last week for trafficking opium and heroin.”

Guess that’s how he could afford to buy all those stolen guns.

  3. Only 7000? I don’t think that’s enough. I’m gonna have to start selling opium and heroin to build up my weapons cache.
Hope he had the ammo to go with it. Sht he should have just become an arms dealer and got out of the drug trade.

  4. I’ll bet the Feds are gonna be pissed. The local sheriff just busted up one of their opium/heroin/stolen firearms stashes. The FBI and CIA will have to step in and take over this investigation. And by “take over” I mean take all their drugs and guns back from the sheriff.

  5. I guess its possible, wont call it fake news.A trailer of guns ah trailer of ammo?,plus. The owner of the home may have been drugged and his home and warehouse used as training sites to get the real news out. Further investigation will possibly get to the bottom of that front yard.

  6. I felt like I might be interrupting a “meeting of the men that still have balls” on this comment thread so I’ll just leave it at that.

  7. I know the guy, he always seemed friendly, but he kept his truck junky. Him and his dad run a Liquor store that is packed so tight with boxes and crates, that there is only room for about 3 people in the store at the time between the register and the door. If you were not standing in a liquor store you would think his dad was a preacher. They had stuff that had not been in production in decades. I am surprised by the drug charge, just because they would not have needed the extra money. But this bust went down Friday, and they were already saying that 99% of they guns were stolen and the count on guns has changed 3 times first it was 1500-2000, then it was 5000, and now from 7000-10000 guns. They are literally pulling #’s out of their ass!
