The southern branch jet stream is about to become active as the ridge over the Northeast Pacific breaks down, which will bring storms back to California, and even finally heavy rainfall to Southern California, which has had extremely below normal rainfall amounts this year, making it the driest year in recorded history.
The start of the storm train will hit California all at once starting this Wednesday. This will hit Central and Northern California harder, and Southern California less. However this system on one computer model wants to be weaker … but judging by the current track of the system will likely be a slightly stronger one than modeled across Southern California so rainfall increasing by Wednesday into Wednesday night is extremely likely.
The strongest in the three part series hits on Friday into Saturday. This storm system promises to deliver very heavy rainfall amounts in a short period of time to both Northern and Southern California. The system has a strong surface low for down in this area, all thanks to the tropical jet. This means that it could be conceivable that severe weather and/or thunderstorms is going to be possible. A strong upper southern branch jet promises to bring the needed dynamics for such an event. The active jet into Southern California is making it look like January 2010, where a tornado hit.
Another storm is scheduled into the area by Sunday, however a building ridge south of it will drive it to Northern California instead, including the San Francisco Bay area.
If this happens then I see a lot of land slides and wash outs – disasters guarenteed especially if this is heavy rain falls
Ya see, the ground is so dry from this drought conditions out there that the sand and soil will not be adle to absorb the heavy rainfall and will be just wash away thus your land slids and wash outs. 🙁
You guys is Calif. need a few days of nice light rain fall befor ya get these heavy rains imoho.
Heck, I hope it comes my way here in northern Arizona! We need the moisture! BADLY.
From the NASA satellite link below, it seems to me that the storm is moving faster north than it is east towards california..From what I see, if this continues california wont get much, if anything. From what I see southern california will get nothing. Guess we will see in a couple of days. Check satellite and let me know what ya think.

This information comes from san francisco state university. …I guess this week we will find out who is more credible…the university or NASA.
NASA is still too busy working on their assigned task of muslim relations…
Like I told Henry when I sent this one in “I’ll believe it when I see it”.
