Occasionally new information completely blow your mind – and this is one of those times! Stefan Molyneux breaks down the basics of the genetic warfare which is the foundation of all living creatures. Different reproduction strategies have emerged over time and this is explained through r/K Selection Theory. When you look at humanity through the lens of reproduction strategies – it’s something you can never, and will never, be able to unsee!
This theory doesn’t work for chimps – they are both extremely promiscuous and high-investing (at least the females are – takes 5 years to rear one baby, with constant one-on-one contact). Also, many birds, although small, are high-investing.
And I know many males who grew up in terrible places with parental neglect, yet they are high-investing, late-reproducing fathers with high educations.

I changed my mind – this stuff is brilliant, even though a few animals here and there don’t fit the model (e.g., chimps, elephants). For humans, this epigenetic theory does seem to fit, esp. for understanding political philosophy.
