Hubby’s mother back in 2017 (she was COPD and other ailments) insisted we put her in a nursing home, but we refused; we’d take care of her, even feed her if necessary, get water, etc., so we went to her place in this POA often. We knew how bad nursing homes could be, and hospitals are no better…she died in a hospital in June that year.
I kept my mom with me too, DL and it was the most natural thing in the world to be there for her. And it was an honor.
But I am so saddened by those who have no other recourse and are subjected to these places. May the family again become the foundation of our lives, where we face what we have to together.
How low can society fall? Good thing we’re humanity and not society. And please, God, don’t let me end up in a nursing home.
