Roseville, CA -(AmmoLand.com)- AB 2459 was pulled from the Assembly Public Safety Committee Hearing this morning and we have your calls, tweets and emails to thank for it!
The bill, authored by Assembly member Kevin McCarty (D-Sacramento), will wipe out every gun dealer in the State of California.
But, at least for today, AB 2459 won’t be moving forward.
KEEP FIGHTING THIS BILL
We assume, however, that they are going to keep pushing the three horrendous components of AB 2459 forward.
To start, AB 2459 will ban all home FFL dealers. There are hundreds of them in the state, and they may serve areas where a traditional brick and mortar store wouldn’t prosper.
AB 2459 would then force all gun dealers to video record all areas of their store wherever firearms or ammunition are stored, displayed, carried, handled, sold, or transferred, including, but not limited to, counters, safes, vaults, cabinets, shelves, cases, and entryways. It will then need to be stored for up to ten years!
AB 2459 mandates a first in the world form of insurance– an unobtainable policy that covers the criminal acts of second, third and fourth parties using a firearm or ammunition from the store in question, even if the retailer is in fact the victim of the crime or if the gun or ammo was stolen from the store.
No gun store in the state will be able to deal with these insane requirements!
KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!
AB 2459 is simply outrageous and should continue to be opposed. For years, elitists politicians have been trying to wipe out the Second Amendment in California.
This bill allows them to wipe out the entire legal marketplace for firearms and ammo.
We are cautiously optimistic that the bill being pulled has signaled its defeat. But in the meantime, we are not going to rest until the final nail has been driven through the coffin.
