At Least 105 People Laid Off At Remington Arms New York Plant, SAFE Act To Blame

Ilion, NY – -(Ammoland.com)- At least 105 jobs are lost at Remington Arms in Ilion, the union’s president confirmed to NewsChannel 2 on Monday afternoon.

The union met with employees on Monday afternoon.

In May, the company announced that it was relocating 80 jobs from Ilion to Huntsville, Alabama. The jobs were relocated, but not the employees.  

The closure of six Remington facilities was also announced in May. The Ilion facility turns 200 years old in 2016 and is the country’s oldest gun manufacturer.
