A $4 million military drone plopped out of the sky into Lake Ontario and now nobody can find it. The National Guard reported that one of its flying robots plummeted into the eastern part of the lake around 1 p.m. yesterday, but had to give up searching for it because of bad weather.

The MQ-9 Reaper was on a practice mission over the military-controlled waters when it suddenly crashed about three hours into its session. The unarmed drone was being operated from the New York Air National Guard’s 174th Attack Wing in Syracuse. A Coast Guard vessel and helicopter were deployed to find it, but, uh, couldn’t.   Continue reading “The Military Could Use Your Help Looking for a Drone It Lost in Lake Ontario”

The headline is positively terrifying. A group of mothers-turned-gun control activists in the wake of the Newtown shootings were menaced and intimidated by 40 plus gun owners openly brandishing weapons – some of which look like the malevolent “assault rifle.” Images of the gun owners appearing to intimidate their ideological foes surfaced, first on ThinkProgress, MSNBC, and even this site. As it turns out, those gun owners appear far less menacing from the front. This is probably why that image has been intentionally left out coverage of this supposed scandal.    Continue reading “MSNBC’s Latest Hilariously Failed Attempt to Smear ‘Terrifying’ Gun Rights Groups”

Richard Overton, who at 107-years-old is America’s oldest living veteran on record, was honored last week at a Veterans Day ceremony in Austin, Texas. In addition to a standing ovation, Overton received a box of cigars — a vice that he cites as a key ingredient in his recipe for longevity.

Overton takes no medicine, except for aspirin. Instead, he smokes cigars — up to 12 a day, he told Fox News this spring — and drinks whiskey with his morning coffee. The secret to living long, he told the Houston Chronicle, is “staying out of trouble.”   Continue reading “Oldest Living Veteran Cites Whiskey, Cigars, ‘Staying Out Of Trouble’ As Key To Longevity”
