The proposed amendment is to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which the UK has been a signatory of since 1976.

Twenty members of the Moderate Party in Sweden have proposed the government deploys the armed forces in some of the country’s most dangerous no-go zones to combat “gang violence”.
Moderate Party politician Mikael Cederbratt made the proposal this week saying: “The situation in our areas of exclusion has deteriorated. Devastating wildfires weren’t the only disaster that struck California during the early weeks of October. Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law a series of bills authored by Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, that may turn the state into one of the fastest-growing and most-dangerous cultural cesspools in the nation — though some would argue it has already achieved this dubious honorific.
Wiener, an East Coast Jewish homosexual, told SF Gate, “There are times when you introduce legislation that you ruffle some feathers. If you don’t, you aren’t doing your job.” This Wiener has been working overtime to debase the state since his election in 2015. To give you a flavor of what Wiener is about, here was the campaign ad that apparently stole the votes of San Franciscans from his Democratic rival, Chinatown machine politician with ties to a convicted pedophile, Jane Kim. The French parliament on Wednesday adopted a tough new anti-terrorism bill that gives authorities vastly expanded powers to search homes, restrict movement and close places of worship.
The bill, which was passed by the Senate after modifications to address concerns about civil liberties, makes permanent some of the exceptional measures contained in the state of emergency imposed after the November 2015 Paris attacks. The NYPD has told a court that it can’t reveal what happened to money seized by its officers under civil forfeiture laws because its database is broken.
Responding to a freedom of information request in Manhattan Supreme Court, city attorney Neil Giovanatti said that the PD was unable to extract the information from its Property and Evidence Tracking System (PETS).

A police officer from Tennessee who ended up firing seven shots while arresting a couple then lost his cool and ended up having a panic attack as he was attempting to apprehend the pair.

International Pentecostal televangelist Morris Cerullo was granted approval Tuesday to build a $131 million religious-themed resort and conference center following a vote by the San Diego City Council.
Cerullo’s World Evangelism website revealed that the Legacy International Project has been backed by the council after the project’s environmental impact report and development permit were approved in a 7-2 vote. Hollywood hacks eager to distract from the Harvey Weinstein scandal released a propaganda video Wednesday asking people to call congress and tell them to “reject the NRA.”
The video is from “Everytown for Gun Safety,” an anti-gun Democratic group backed mainly by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. It features Emma Stone, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore and others (who no doubt said “yes” to Weinstein and other industry bigwigs advances in exchange for fame) demanding Americans be disarmed.

The consumer genetic testing market was valued at $70 million in 2015, but estimates expect it to expand to $340 million by 2022. My bedtime reading is the Babylonian Talmud. It’s true. I find horror literature relaxing. I take a volume of the Talmud and a pencil and sit on the edge of my bed and study for 20 to 30 minutes every night, secure in the thought that it will not be anytime soon that I run out of material, since the Talmud consists of more than 30 volumes, much of it turgid minutiae about subjects so prurient they boggle the mind (Sanhedrin 82b: “Zimri engaged in 424 acts of intercourse with Cozbi in one day”).
