Gun companies are gathering for their annual conference and trade show this week in Las Vegas at a pivotal moment for the industry amid slumping sales, a public increasingly agitating for restrictions on access to firearms and escalating tensions over gun control efforts.
The event, held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the gun industry’s lobbying group, will take place in Las Vegas — about 3 miles from the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — State officials and U.S. hate-monitoring groups are warning about the potential for violence ahead of a gun-rights rally in Virginia that’s expected to draw a mix of militias, firearms advocates and white supremacists to Richmond.

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are scouring the internet for clues about plans for mayhem, workers are putting up chain link holding pens around Virginia’s picturesque Capitol Square, and one lawmaker even plans to hide in a safe house in advance of what’s expected to be an unprecedented show of force by gun-rights activists.
What is provoking their anger in this once reliably conservative state is the new Democratic majority leadership and its plans to enact a slew of gun restrictions. As various pro-gun rights groups prepare to gather at Virginia’s state capitol in Richmond on Monday in what’s expected to be one of the largest pro-gun rallies in recent memory, Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam has declared a state of emergency, police are busy setting up barricades and temporary holding pens – and one lawmaker has even arranged to spend most of the day in a safe house, according to the Washington Examiner.

Florida State Senator and GOP Leader Joe Gruters will announce a bill next week that will allow Floridians to sue social media companies that censor their political speech, and will restrict the ability of social media companies to use “hate speech” policies as a legal defense for censorship.

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam (D) praised the NRA while announcing a gun ban, and the NRA responded by letting him know they were interested in holding on to gun rights not platitudes.
On January 15, Breitbart News reported that Northam declared an “state of emergency,” temporarily banning the exercise of Second Amendment rights on Virginia Capitol grounds. The ban runs Friday, January 17, through Tuesday, January 21, effectively barring thousands of attendees to Monday’s pro-Second Amendment rally from being armed. The December, 2019 National Instant background Checks System numbers were the highest month in the year, at 2,936,894 checks for the month. Those numbers lead to the highest number of checks for a year on record. 2019 saw the most background checks ever done in a single year, with 28,369,750 checks done in 2019.

A shocking new poll has discovered that 47 percent of young Democrats believe that other countries are better than the United States. Moreover, many young Americans admit that they wouldn’t mind other countries becoming as militarily powerful as the United States.

Gun permit applications surged nearly 1,000 percent in New York’s Jewish community since the December 28, 2019, attack on Hasidic Jews in a rabbi’s home.
The Washington Examiner reports that the surge is clear in Rockland County, the very county in which the rabbi’s home was attacked. The NRA will be handing out 1,000 30-round magazines in the Virginia Capitol City of Richmond Monday as part of the fight against Gov. Ralph Northam’s (D) gun grab.
