In a physician chat group recently, a doctor who treats hospitalized patients made a recommendation to our group of 38,000 members that left me startled and alarmed. She shared her protocol for all COVID-19 patients admitted to the hospital: every one of them gets not only a chest x-ray but an entire battery of special tests, including a coagulation test, a leg ultrasound and a CT scan.

This was offered as her blanket standard of care. MANCHESTER, N.H. — A homeless camp at the Superior Courthouse in Manchester was dismantled Friday, and city officials said they’re upset with how the state carried out the eviction.

State police moved in Friday morning, days after a state-imposed deadline for removal.

The camp has been a bone of contention between the state and city of Manchester, with both sides blaming each other for letting the situation get worse. The relief effort comes after the Federal Emergency Management Agency fulfilled an aid request submitted by Gov. Supermarket Sainsbury’s has announced plans to close all of its in-store meat, fish and deli counters due to a lack of demand caused by Covid-19.

BISMARCK — North Dakota has put in place a statewide mask mandate, occupancy limits on public-facing businesses and the suspension of most high school winter sports as the state’s worst-in-the-nation COVID-19 outbreak continues to spiral out of control.

The mask order, announced in a news release late Friday night, Nov. 13, means residents of the state must wear face coverings in businesses, indoor public places and outdoor public settings where social distancing cannot be maintained. The order includes exemptions for children under five years of age, people attending religious services and those with disabilities that make mask-wearing unreasonable.
