Dr. Fauci on Sunday told CBS “Sunday Morning” senior contributor Ted Koppel that there’s a “misplaced perception” about people’s rights superseding “societal safety.”
“One of the things that to me was most difficult to accept is that we put together a good plan for how we were going to try and dampen down the spread of infection early on thinking that that was accepted by everybody,” Fauci said to Koppel. “And then, the next day you have the president [Trump] saying, ‘Free Michigan. Free Virginia.’ I didn’t quite understand what the purpose of that was, except to put this misplaced perception about people’s individual right to make a decision that supersedes the societal safety. The Pentagon weighed in Monday on Oklahoma’s decision to defy a mandate that National Guard troops get COVID-19 vaccinations, saying Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has the final authority despite the state’s announcement.
The new Oklahoma National Guard adjutant general, Brig. Gen. Thomas Mancino, issued a memo last week notifying troops they would not be required to take the COVID vaccine after he was appointed by Gov. The judge in the Kyle Rittenhouse case has dismissed the charge that the teen was unlawfully carrying a weapon in August 2020 – the only firearms related charge against him (count 6, possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18), arguing that the Wisconsin law was poorly written and that the law was not violated by the shorter barrel on the firearm. The third presidential term of Franklin D. U.S. military officials in Guam are testing Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system in anticipation of a cruise missile attack from China.
The missile defense system, which the United States purchased in 2019, is part of the Pentagon’s push to counter China in the Pacific, according to the Wall Street Journal. In June, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered military forces to speed up efforts to deter Beijing in the region. The National School Boards Association liaised with the White House and Justice Department before writing to Joe Biden, it emerged on Thursday, with their infamous letter complaining that threats made by parents against board members should be taken as seriously as domestic terrorism.
The NSBA, in an internal memo sent on October 12, revealed that they had held discussions with White House officials before sending the letter. The association represents more than 90,000 school board members in 14,000 public school districts. Nov 12 (Reuters) – A U.S. appeals court on Friday upheld its decision to put on hold an order by President Joe Biden for companies with 100 workers or more to require COVID-19 vaccines, rejecting a challenge by his administration.
