The Department of Justice on Tuesday announced it will use “strike forces” to go after illegal firearms trafficking in major U.S. cities.

The strike forces will be launched within 30 days in Democrat-run New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and their respective metropolitan areas. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) will coordinate with designated U.S. attorneys to target “firearms trafficking corridors,” according to a news release from the Justice Department. Calling the involuntarily exams “excessive and illegal,” the advocacy groups said in a federal lawsuit that the school district had deprived hundreds of children of educational opportunities and inflicted unnecessary trauma by forcing them into mental health centers over unthreatening behavioral incidents. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi is praising President Joe Biden’s plan to bring four times as many refugees to the United States this year as former President Trump had planned.

In a statement this week, Grandi applauded Biden’s decision to increase the refugee resettlement cap for Fiscal Year 2021 to 62,500 — a more than 315 percent jump compared to the previously established cap of 15,000 refugees for the fiscal year. SALT LAKE CITY — The number of people stopped from buying guns through the U.S. background check system hit an all-time high of more than 300,000 last year amid a surge of firearm sales, according to new records obtained by the group Everytown for Gun Safety.

The FBI numbers provided to The Associated Press show the background checks blocked nearly twice as many gun sales in 2020 as in the year before. Rumours are circulating that the Covid-19 vaccines are to blame for the recent deaths of four British Airways pilots within days of each other. A rumour based on the fact pilots are subjected to strict medical tests annually in order to be passed as fit to fly, meaning the death of a single pilot due to natural causes in a single year is extremely rare, let alone four within days of each other.

British Airways have confirmed the authenticity of four condolence books shown in the above image that is flying round social media. They said four company pilots had recently passed away and “our thoughts are with their family and friends,”. A hydropower plant at California’s drought-stricken Lake Oroville that powers up to 800,000 homes could be shut down for the first time since it opened 1967 as an unrelenting heat wave torching the Southwest continues to strain the region’s electrical grid.

Lake Oroville, which is the state’s second largest reservoir, dropped to around 700 feet above sea level. If it continues to fall to 640 feet, there won’t enough water to operating the plant, California Energy Commission spokesperson Lindsay Buckley told CNN.
