We posted yesterday concerning a report that Israel had attacked a Syrian port on July 5th. The U.S. had confirmed this in that article. The important take away is these were Russian missiles that were destroyed in this attack.

Lincoln, Neb., Aug. 31.–The Woman’s Christian temperance union of Nebraska has determined to have arms removed from the high school cadets of the public schools. The ladies declare the young men of the state should be taught peaceful methods, such as arbitration, etc. The women arranged for a vigorous campaign to be conducted on these lines. The loss of a single aircraft is relatively easy to sweep under the rug, but a major engagement would see the planes raining down like they did in 1973, though a complete media lock down kept that information from becoming common knowledge.

Israel announced on July 8 that one of their F-16s suffered a mechanical failure off the coast of Gaza. A military spokesman for the Israeli Air Force (IAF) said both pilots were recovered.
