A group of NYPD officers tried to rip a child from his mother’s arms at a Brooklyn food-assistance center Friday in a scene captured on video that first sparked outrage and now an investigation.
The shocking footage posted to Facebook shows a young mother — identified by police as Jazmine Headley, 23 — sitting on the floor at a SNAP center in Boerum Hill as a uniformed officer attempts to pry her year-old son from her arms, dragging her across the room in the process. Other officers also joined in trying to separate mother and son.
“Oh my God, oh my God, look what they’re doing to us, look what they’re doing to her,” someone can be heard yelling as about three officers and at least one security guard surround the woman.
“There’s a f—king baby in her hands!” someone else screams.
At one point, the mother can be seen mouthing, “I’m begging you please,” as she lays flat on the ground.
One police officer points what appears to be a Taser at the protesting crowd as more cops arrive.
Monae Sinclair, who posted the video, wrote that the mom sat down on the floor at the 275 Bergen St. center because there were no chairs left, and she was confronted by a security guard.
“[The mom] made the security guard feel dumb so she called the cops on her and this was the outcome,” Sinclair wrote in the video’s caption. “She had her baby in her hands the whole time. I’m so f–ing disgusted with the NYPD.”
City Council Speaker Corey Johnson on Sunday called for an investigation into the video calling it “unacceptable, appalling and heartbreaking.”
“I’d like to understand what transpired and how these officers or the NYPD justifies this,” Johnson tweeted. “It’s hard to watch this video.”
The NYPD said they were investigating the “troubling” incident. Cops were called to the center on Friday at around 1 p.m. after Human Resources Administration weren’t able to kick out a person they said was being “disorderly” and blocking a hallway.
When officers got to the center they ordered Headley to leave but she refused, they said.
“HRA peace officers brought the woman to the floor,” the NYPD said.
She was charged with resisting arrest, acting in a manner injurious to a child, obstructing governmental administration and criminal trespassing.

Cops aren’t color blind. They’ll thug on any anyone regardless of skin color. This should always be remembered.
Cops start in and cant stop, as a matter of fact they call for back up. This was at a food charity center for christ sakes. Giving free food to people who need help, and this is what they get? The POS who called the cops should be held responsible, somebody needs to straighten this POS out, big time.

Those who perpetrated this crime, and those who watched and did nothing, I hope someday, that which is most precious to you is torn from YOUR clutches. That may be the only way you can understand the wrong you did, the anguish you dished out.
Not only was this a horrible cruelty, but it was certainly child abuse and mother abuse, and on a very deep level, more than likely trauma-inducing.

‘They didn’t create the dispute at the HRA office — as always, they were called in to deal with the inevitable fallout when the rest of our City government fails in its task,’ he said.
He added, ‘The event would have unfolded much differently if those at the scene had simply complied with the officers’ lawful orders. The immediate rush to condemn these officers leaves their fellow cops wondering: when confronted with a similar impossible scenario, what do you want us to do? The answer cannot be “do nothing.” ‘ ”

Why do people call them officers? What office do they hold?
All the pigs are wearing body armor and heavily armed. Gun free zone for everyone else and if you even say on the internet what you would do you are red flagged. This is an even worse future than to “imagine a boot stomping on a face”.
