The American Prospect – by David Dayen

Those defrauded by Bank of America aren’t allowed to file a collective complaint, thanks to a 2011 Supreme Court ruling.

In June, six former employees of Bank of America’s loan-modification department testified in court that since 2009, they had been instructed to lie to struggling homeowners, hide their financial documents, and push them into foreclosure. In the most egregious example, the employees said they were offered Target gift cards as a bonus for more foreclosures, which generated lucrative fees for the bank. The employees, who were in charge of implementing the government’s Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) at the bank, described the same deceptive practices across the country.   Continue reading “Homeowners vs. Big Bad Banks”

When a Texas man reportedly staggered into a local hospital, complaining of dizziness, staff made the rather obvious conclusion.

They gave him a Breathalyzer test.

And sure enough, the 61-year-old appeared to confirm their suspicions. He blew .37 — nearly five times the legal limit in Texas.   Continue reading “Auto-Brewery Syndrome: Man’s Belly Brews Beer”

Aaron Alexis was the gunman who opened fire at the Washington, D.C. Navy yard Monday.Examiner- by Dave Workman

As the original narrative about Monday’s mass shooting at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in southeast Washington, D.C. involving an AR-15 rifle is dissolving, the new demon in the revised story now appears to be the Remington Model 870 shotgun that the Daily Mail on-line breathlessly gasps “can load six shells at once.”

This change in the story leaves bombastic television commentator Piers Morgan with egg on his face after anon-air rant that Alexis had purchased an AR-15. This came during an appearance with a panel that included researcher and author John Lott.   Continue reading “Original story dissolves, so press demonizes pump shotgun”

So was the whole shooting staged, or were actors simply brought in?

The complex details are unknown, and can only be speculated upon until people actually go prove this, as citizens.

This event is like Sandy Hook in that way, as well.   Continue reading “Alleged Witnesses to DC Navy Yard Shooting Caught Hysterically Laughing – ‘Crisis Actors’?”

WASHINGTON — The House has voted to cut nearly $4 billion a year from food stamps, a 5 percent reduction to the nation’s main feeding program used by more than 1 in 7 Americans.

The 217-210 vote was a win for conservatives after Democrats united in opposition and some GOP moderates said the cut was too high.

The bill’s savings would be achieved by allowing states to put broad new work requirements in place for many food stamp recipients and to test applicants for drugs. The bill also would end government waivers that have allowed able-bodied adults without dependents to receive food stamps indefinitely.    Continue reading “House votes to cut $4 billion a year from food stamps”

People who are in survival and prepping „movement“ all around the world and around the web are doing lot of stuff in order to prepare for SHTF.

Numerous blogs and forums are there, and they all trying to figure when s. gonna hit the fan and how it is going to be. My time in war was like worst case scenario but hopefully only few people will have it that bad even when there is total collapse and no law (at least you are not gonna have snipers and shelling if your government behaves).   Continue reading “Keep them fed and entertained”

Colorado’s flooding shut down hundreds of natural gas and oil wells in the state’s main petroleum-producing region and triggered at least two spills, temporarily suspending a multibillion-dollar drilling frenzy and sending inspectors into the field to gauge the extent of pollution.

Besides the possible environmental impact, flood damage to roads, railroads and other infrastructure will affect the region’s energy production for months to come. And analysts warn that images of flooded wellheads from the booming Wattenberg Field will increase public pressure to impose restrictions on drilling techniques such as fracking.   Continue reading “Colorado Flooding Triggers Oil Spills, Shutdowns”

juryFree-Man’s Perspective – by Paul Rosenberg

A few years ago I received a jury summons. And while I detest the barbaric “show up or else” aspect of it, I do appreciate juries as a last ditch measure against tyranny. (In fact, years ago I spent some time with Larry Dodge, the founder of the Fully Informed Jury Association, and I’ve been a fan ever since.)

I was assigned to a slightly complicated drunk driving case, and since I have courtroom experience, the other jurors elected me Foreman. We heard the testimony in the case, which didn’t take long, and then retired to our jury room to deliberate.   Continue reading “The 2 Forces that Work Against You in a Jury Trial”

If one goes by the American measurement, the saying goes that they do not start a venture unless they are sure about its cost not going from their own kitty. The Afghan venture does not seemingly pay them as does Iraq’s but permitting poppy cultivation to the Afghan warlords and bigwigs favouring the US intervention was the bid to justify finances of their stay in that country.   Continue reading “CIA’s Secret Drug trade goes on unchecked in Afghanistan”
