Indiana Replaces Common Core ... With Common CoreThe New American – by Alex Newman

Celebrations by parents, teachers, and taxpayers across the political spectrum over the purported death of Common Core in Indiana may have been premature. When legions of outraged Hoosiers forced lawmakers to pass legislation dropping the Obama administration-pushed nationalization of K-12 education, which Republican Gov. Mike Pence signed on Monday, they thought that would be the end of the deeply controversial standards. However, now that drafts of Indiana’s “new” standards have emerged, it is clear that they were largely copied and pasted from the scandal-plagued Common Core.     Continue reading “Indiana Replaces Common Core … With Common Core”

5 Most Disturbing MKUltra Experiments Conducted By the CIATop Secret Writers – by Dennis

In the past, the American government has conducted acts to its people that it can never live down. One such act is MKUltra. The decade-long program subjected a number of Americans and citizens of other countries to inhumane experiments.

The U.S Army and the CIA subjected these people to a number of electroshock therapies, toxins, biological agents, and psychoactive drugs and often without their consent or knowledge. Even though the acts were committed nearly 70 years ago, many of the former subjects are still suffering and the American government is still being sued for its participation.   Continue reading “5 Most Disturbing MKUltra Experiments Conducted By the CIA”

A Facebook update from a father frustrated with the Common Core math program at his son’s school is making the Internet rounds after the father Jeff Severt expressed (via what looks like a kid’s homework assignment) how convoluted the teaching approach is.

The worksheet posted to Facebook shows the elaborate Common Core (CC) formula for solving a math problem (as opposed to the simple strategy of subtracting the smaller number from the larger one). It instructs the student to explain why a fictional kid named “Jack” should be using common core strategies to solve the problem: “Jack used the number line below to solve 427 – 316. Find his error. Then write a letter to Jack telling him what he did right, and what he should do to fix his mistake.”   Continue reading “Read Parent’s Facebook Response to ‘Ridiculous’ Common Core Math Homework”

An oddly timed dust storm is moving into the Valley right now. A Dust Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 p.m. for Maricopa and Pinal County as the massive wall of dust moves north along Interstate 10, and into parts of the southeast Valley.

We’re all used to dust storms in the summer — but rarely do they come in March.

Our dry winter, along with heavy winds in southern Arizona today, are likely the culprits of today’s dust storm.    Continue reading “15-20 mile-wide Haboob moves through Phoenix AZ – rare for this time of year”

The US government talks a lot of being appreciative of its war veterans, but actually leaves them in the lurch once they return home, an American political commentator says.

Linn Washington Jr., who is an Associate Professor of Journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia and a weekly columnist for the historic Philadelphia Tribune, made the remarks in a telephone interview with Press TV on Tuesday.   Continue reading “US leaves war veterans in the lurch once they return home: Analyst”

Near Death Experiments – by Pipe Rain

Packing a ruck can, at first glance seem a daunting affair.  If you look on the net, you’ll find all kinds of information on how to pack your ruck to go hike the Adirondacks or the Pacific Coast Trail.  You can find info from the Boy Scouts that will tell you how to properly pack a Coleman stove and a few days worth of canned foods.  In other words, there’s not a lot of info out there that suits “Our Purposes”.  So, in a search to figure out how to do this, and with the help of tire iron, and select tidbits from the web, here’s what I have.   Continue reading “How I pack my ruck”

How FarThe Defensive Training Group

As you experiment setting up your pack and then go into the field, you will find that many times your “what if” tendencies (see above graphic) will guide you to over-pack your ruck with many items you don’t really need, with the final result being the pack isn’t properly balanced once it’s loaded.  It will end up being an anchor instead of your ticket to continued ability to operate or survive.

The following information is provided for your benefit.   Continue reading “Ruck Sack Packing – A Primer”

It wasn’t that long ago when Dick’s Sporting Goods pulled all black semi-automatic rifles from their shelves. They felt that in light of the Sandy Hook tragedy, these guns possibly should not be sold. This of course caused massive complaints against Dick’s, by law-abiding gun owners protesting their lunacy.

Dick’s has now returned for round two! A member of Gun Rights Across America we’ll call “John” went shopping for .308 cartridges at the Dick’s in Niles, IL. When he went to checkout, he was bombarded with a list of questions after presenting his current Illinois FOID Card (Firearms Owners Identification Card – Required to purchase guns and/or ammunition under IL State Law).   Continue reading “Dick’s Sporting Goods Now Discriminating Against Law-Abiding Gun Owners”

World Vision, a prominent evangelical Christian charity that conducts humanitarian efforts around the globe, announced this week that it will begin hiring married gays and lesbians at its U.S. branch, so long as they are committed followers of Jesus Christ.

The policy change still requires World Vision’s more than 1,100 U.S. employees to be abstinent outside of marriage, though it broadens employment possibilities for gay Christians looking to work in the faith-based nonprofit realm.   Continue reading “Christian Org Announces Major Policy Change on Gays”

WASHINGTON — As members of Congress and the Obama administration scramble to respond to the increasing threat posed by the Russian military in Ukraine, economic sanctions are emerging as the United States’ preferred method of exercising its leverage.

Late Monday, the Senate moved ahead on approving President Barack Obama’s request to enact broad penalties in the future against Russian officials and business people who are engaged in what the Treasury Department deems corruption, bribery or misuse of public funds. The House has passed a similar measure and is considering further steps in legislation scheduled for a markup Tuesday in the House Foreign Affairs Committee.   Continue reading “Six Members Of Congress Have Financial Stake In Russian Sanctions”

Imagine if clinics in developing countries were equipped with an inexpensive yet durable tool that could help medical personnel identify and diagnose a variety of deadly diseases like Malaria, Chagas disease, or Leishmaniosis? For millions of people around the world waiting to be diagnosed and treated, such a tool could be a life-saver.

Manu Prakash, a professor at Stanford University and his students have developed a microscope out of a flat sheet of paper, a watch battery, LED, and optical units that when folded together, much like origami, creates a functional instrument with the resolution of 800 nanometers – basically magnifying an object up to 2,000 times.   Continue reading “Super-Cheap Paper Microscope Could Save Millions of Lives”

There are 30,774,038 federal, state and local government employees if you count the 4.4 million federal contractors and 2.5 million grantees. Are we getting our money’s worth? America has sent 12 million high paying jobs and 56,000 manufacturing plants overseas. We now have 51.5 million low paying workers who pay few if any taxes at all. 27 million individuals and families with children received an average of $1,330 in welfare payments disguised as Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC.) With our declining wages and employment we might ask ourselves are all those people worth it.

Any government worker who participated in the surveillance and assassination of the journalist Michael Hastings needs to at least lose their job if not serve time in prison. Journalism for good reason is the only profession protected by the Bill of Rights.   Continue reading “30,774,038 Government Employees. What Do They Do?”
