As parents and concerned citizens rallied in Sacramento to oppose Senate Bill 277, the Senate Health Committee advanced the bill with a 6 to 2 vote. In what the Sergeant at Arms described as “The biggest turnout I’ve seen in 15 years,” the signed bill now faces further challenges on the way to law.
In California, where solutions appear to always remove rights from the citizen and replace them with control, hope for individual freedoms is getting hard to come by. While the state grapples with laughable solutions put forward by Gov. Jerry Brown to end a drought, parents now face the real possibility of forced vaccination for their children attending public school. As the Saudi-led airstrikes in Yemen continue and the fighting on the ground intensifies, US citizens stuck in Yemen have lashed out at Washington for ignoring their pleas for help as they try to leave the war-torn country.
Aerial bombardment and street battles have become a daily reality for people in Yemen. “We hear a few bombings a day. The NYPD has struck again, this time quite literally: breaking the leg of Thabo Sefolosha, a forward for the Atlanta Hawks.
At around 4:00 AM on Wednesday morning, Indiana Pacers player Chris Copeland and his girlfriend were stabbed outside a New York City nightclub during an altercation with a stranger armed with a switchblade. The injuries were not life threatening, although Copeland did suffer a broken elbow in the attack and has to undergo surgery. US Republican senators have proposed amendments to legislation giving Congress a vote on a nuclear agreement with Iran, with Senator Marco Rubio attempting to tie Israel to the controversial bill.

The National Basketball Association said Saturday that it is calling for more details following the arrest earlier this week of Atlanta Hawks’ Thabo Sefolosha, which ended with the player enduring a broken ankle.

Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood is being called the “New Joe Arpaio” for his refusal to abandon the people of his county to satisfy the ideological needs of a tyrant and a flowerpowered state official. Gov. Moonbeam recently signed an executive order, telling law enforcement in the state that they cannot work with federal immigration officers to detain illegal aliens who commit crimes, making California a sanctuary state. Environmental activists cheered the California Fish and Game Commission’s decision to adopt regulations banning the use of lead ammunition for hunting throughout the Golden State.
In a unanimous vote, the Commission opted to phase out lead bullets, which hunters groups are calling a de-facto ban on hunting in the state. Environmentalists, on the other hand, are saying these regulations will save California Condors and Golden Eagles from getting lead poisoning. OLNEY (WPVI) — Two people were arrested and several others are being sought in connection to a brutal attack on a homeless man at a gas station in Philadelphia’s Olney section.
It happened around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 5500 block of North 5th Street.

The U.S. Capitol Building was on lockdown Saturday for 2 1/2 hours after a man killed himself outside, officials said.
The unidentified man shot himself and was “neutralized,” Lt. Kimberly Schneider said in an email to reporters.
