Lawmakers Ask For Hearing On Measles Vaccination

DENVER (CBS4) – Lawmakers including Colorado Congresswoman Diana Degette are asking the Committee on Energy and Commerce to hold a hearing on the measles outbreak and the importance of vaccinations.

The letter points out important facts regarding the recent spread in measles, which began at Disneyland in December 2014.

Although the outbreak is centered in California, “There are also several confirmed cases in Arizona, and state public health officials have warned that the outbreak has reached ‘a critical point.’”

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease. The letter sites some compelling statistics, stating, “It is estimated that 90% of people exposed to the disease will be infected unless they have been vaccinated.  Since the introduction of the combination MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine, there has been a 99% reduction in the number of measles cases.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared measles eradicated in the United States in 2000. This was due to a highly effective vaccination program, determined public health officials.

However, the letter states that “in 2008, the U.S. experienced several outbreaks in communities with groups of unvaccinated people.”

And now, “2014 saw a record number of measles cases, with 644 cases in 27 states, the highest number in the United States since 2000.”

This group of lawmakers, as well as public health officials, is emphasizing the importance and effectiveness of vaccination. In fact, “For the 42 patients for whom vaccination status is known, 34 were unvaccinated and three received partial vaccinations.”

They hope to schedule a hearing with the committee to prevent the spread of measles.

  1. Oh yes these same officials who let millions of unvaccinated illegals into the country. I think I see the pattern, problem- reaction -solution. Cause an outbreak, force vaccination for all. These people are begging for a lesson.

  2. It couldn’t be the 20 million dirty, uneducated illegals that TEAM OBAMA smuggled in here from South America………….they are here to make America a better place and earn big incomes and pay taxes????Right?????

  3. “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared measles eradicated in the United States in 2000. This was due to a highly effective vaccination program, determined public health officials.”

    Right.

Highly effective at causing autism, that is.

    1. I remember hearing about the measles irradiation in 2000. Seems to me that perhaps someone from a lab may have reintroduced the measles back into the population.
      . . .

  4. Vaccines serve a purpose all right – just not the one people think –
In Vaccine-nation, Moritz unravels the mother of all vaccine lies – that vaccines are safe and they prevent disease. Furthermore, he reveals undeniable scientific proof that vaccines are actually implicated in most diseases today.

    This book reveals:

Statistical evidence that vaccines never actually eradicated infectious diseases, including polio.
How childhood vaccines, flu shots and other kinds of inoculations systemically destroy the body’s immune system.
The massive increase of allergies, Eczema, Arthritis, Asthma, Autism, Acid reflux, Cancer, Diabetes (infant and childhood), Kidney disease, Miscarriages, many Neurological and Autoimmune diseases, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is largely due to vaccines.
Why vaccinated children have 120% more Asthma, 317% more ADHD, 185% more Neurologic disorders, and 146% more Autism than those not vaccinated.
The shocking fact that most outbreaks of infectious diseases occur largely among those who are fully vaccinated.
Vaccines lack long-term safety testing and most vaccine side-effects are never reported to protect vaccine-makers from liability suits.
In Vaccine-nation, Moritz minces no words while unraveling these and other skeletons in Big Pharma’s closet and cautions you not to buy into the hollow claims of vaccine makers.

  5. Let’s see Dalton, what is their agenda? “Let me install this poison into your body. It’s for your own good. We are your all loving and caring government and we would never consider anything that may pose a risk to you peons. Now, take your vaccination and go home and spread this disease.” I don’t know if your old enough to have been a part of the vaccination program they had going back in the 60’s, but they took over the high school gymnasium and lined up everyone to get stabbed. There were no parental consent forms or, for that matter, any paperwork. The fire department and police were in charge and no one questioned the authorities back in them days. At 6 years old, you just stood in line to get your shot of poison, you had no other choice in the matter. I’ll never forget that day.

    1. Millard, I remember those school vaccination lines in the 1960s. I also remember that my mother sent in a letter exempting me, which the school honored. The reason is: I had already had my vaccinations at the doctor’s office. But apparently lots of kids hadn’t, or their mothers hadn’t gotten the memo. Those were some very long lines, I remember. Most of the kids.

  6. Well now that Ebola has died down, why are we being distracted by measles? Measles are nothing to fear. It’s a normal childhood disease and comes and then goes. Then hopefully you have an immunity built up in your body. Catching the measles can be dangerous during pregnancy though. Because it can lead to fetal deformity.

I never had the measles, and when I was pregnant I was exposed to measles and freaked out! When I went to my doctor and got tested, the test came back indicating that I had a natural immunity to the disease.

BTW . . . I have learned . . . if one is having issues with eczema or psoriasis, better check to see if there is a gluten intolerance. Or get away from gluten all together.
    . . .

      1. That’s right! Some strains of wheat DO contain gluten. 🙂

Which is why I personally took myself off of wheat all together . . . and why “I have learned” as I said. 🙂

        🙄
        . . .

      2. Roundup will cause holes in your gut that will let molecules pass through to the blood stream making you allergic to them. The Gluten molecule is one of them, lactose another. If the condition persists one could find themselves allergic to just about everything. Flaky skin behind the ear is a home run symptom of Gluten intolerance. Hemp will cure this condition.

  7. Yea and I’m sure the illegal immigrants coming across our Southern border and invading our country has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Honestly, these psychopaths are doing the same thing with Fukushima radiation. They say, “We don’t know why there’s a mass die off of animals or why people are getting cancer or becoming deformed”, yet never mention Fukushima. If anyone says anything about it, they are labeled a conspiracy nut, the same way people are labeled as extremists when they talk about illegal immigrants (or as the assholes like to say, “undocumented people”) being the cause of the outbreaks. They almost wave their hand at you from behind the curtain saying, “SHH!!! You are not supposed to know all of this. You’re ruining the whole damn show and even the surprise ending for everyone. Just go with it now like everybody else and we’ll talk about it later after the show is over.” 😉

  8. Government “pretending” they care about us again. Like those cigarette commercials. On the other hand, these are the same people who won’t label GMO foods.
