Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Puts Drag Queens on Display

World Events and the Bible

WEB Notes: The fall of our society and nation cannot be in doubt. When these types of things are openly put on display there is a real attempt to pollute the minds of our people and children. Even a child is wise enough to ask, “Dad why is that man dressed up like a woman?” Yet adults openly accept and promote this type of behavior. This is a very act against nature itself.

(VideoWND) – Snoopy, Spider-Man, SpongeBob — the iconic big balloons of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade took to the air Thursday at half their standard height due to high winds — but spirits of the young spectators were still flying high at the sight of their favorite cartoon characters.

Wide-eyed kids looked with wonder as the massive floats slowly wound down the streets of New York City.

“My favorite balloon was the Hello Kitty!” said Arely Cruz, 7, of the Bronx told the New York Daily News. “It looked cute.”

Her cousin Daniel Cruz was overjoyed to see his favorite character in larger-than-life form — Greg Heffley, the main character in the hit children’s book series, “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”

And then the singing drag queens in thigh-high red boots hit the parade route.

The performance by the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical “Kinky Boots” left a lot of viewers scratching their heads, shaking their heads, and wondering what happened to the family friendly tradition. The reaction to the performance is now trending on Twitter:

“For millions of families each year, Thanksgiving Day isn’t complete without tuning in to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” said Doug Vaughan, executive vice president, Special Programs and Late Night, NBC Entertainment, in a recent statement. “We are thrilled to once again broadcast this national celebration to kick off the holiday season.”

Playbill.com provides this synopsis of “Kinky Boots”: “Charlie Price is forced to step in and save his family’s shoe factory in Northern England following the sudden death of his father. Help comes from the unlikeliest angel, a fabulous drag performer named Lola. Together, this improbable duo revitalizes the failing business, while stepping out from their fathers’ shadows and transforming an entire community through the power of acceptance.”

Hosted by Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie of NBC’s “Today,” the parade also features the Radio City Rockettes as well as Broadway’s “Pippin, Matilda and Motown: The Musical.” The first hour of the national broadcast included a family friendly appearance by Carrie Underwood and members of the cast of NBC’s upcoming “The Sound of Music Live!” – WND: Macy’s puts drag queens on parade

  1. Stupid argument against cross dressing. Milton Bearle was celebrating this 60 years ago. I’m offended that you would use this to espouse your personal prejudices.

  2. Sorry Lauren – big difference between Milton Berle’s drag act and this attempt to mainstream homosexuality. Berle played it for the laugh; the joke was obvious – men don’t dress and act like women and when they do, they are doing comedy.
This ‘rainbow coalition kumbiyah’ was a transparent attempt to bamboozle impressionable young minds that ‘do whatever you want to do’; including cross-dressing without playing for laughs, is perfectly acceptable in the united States these days. While it may have a place on Broadway(questionable), it has no place at a Thanksgiving Day parade, nor on NBC.(in my opinion) It’s just ANOTHER attempt at legitimizing homosexuality. And sorry Bullwinkle, it’s time to boycott NBC and their sponsors; not to stay away from an Annual Holiday celebration. I refuse to leave the field and I will be heard!

    1. Not so, tribeseeker. And those of us who find homosexuality
(sodomy, let’s call it by the right name here)
an “abomination” (God’s term for it), are heterosexuals who
can see what is happening to the very fabric of our
      society.

“Callling evil good and good evil.”

And the mere fact that one does not accept or
acknowledge the Lord God Almighty, does not
      make Him any less real.

God will have the last say in all of this evil that
is becoming more and more prevelent with each
      passing day!!

“Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For whatsoever
a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

    2. That’s such BS tribeseeker. You have definitely being imbibing in the Kool-Aid. That was a psychological meme started in the seventies to make normal men keep their mouths shut.
I hate Israeli’s does that make me a closet Jew?

  3. Milton Bearle was a cross dresser. People will laugh at any thing, I thought that it was sick, him running around in a dress. This is what our country has become, totally SICK
