Counter Current NewsA Minnesota man is facing jail Thursday as the deadline set by a Hennepin County judge to remove a turbine he built on his own property has passed.
This long-running dispute over wind turbine has led a judge to order the Orono resident, Jay Nygard, to remove the wind turbine he built four years ago by February 11th, or else he and his wife will spend six months in jail and pay a $250 fine.
What’s all the fuss about a wind turbine? The judge says that it’s a “nuisance.”
Now, Nygard says that he has complied with every last thing in the court order… except for removing the actual turbine. That, he says, he does not intend to do.
He has paid the court judgment and he’s even shut down the turbine itself. But he does not see any reason the non-operating turbine itself should have to be physically removed from his own private property.
“I don’t want go to jail over this. These are my rights. She doesn’t have the right to trample them,” Nygard explained.
But Nygard’s neighbors, Penny Rogers and Peter Lanpher, say that the 29-foot turbine’s blades come across a fence onto their own property. They also claim that the turbine is very loud and reflects the sun onto their property.
“If you sit on their deck, it is almost like you could reach out and touch it,” Tennant explained.
In response to the Nygards’ turbine, the city passed an ordinance banning them altogether. But a district judge ruled that while they could restrict turbines, they were not legally allowed to ban them.
Nygard’s lawyer, Erick Kaardal, says that the family is prepared to go to jail if need be, because green and alternative energy is a right.
“He is ready to serve based on principle,” Kaardal explained.
The latest word that he have received is that an appeal hearing has been scheduled for March 4th. Stay tuned for the latest on this story!

And this is why we have Nazi Homeowner Associations telling us how tall our grass can be or when we have to cut it and how tall we can build things on OUR property.
The other day, I was looking at houses and asked if it had a HOA. She said the houses did and that they were “less restrictive” (as if that makes any difference. There’s no more or less restrictive. It’s still restrictive. It’s still restricting! DUH! Talk about Commie speak) and that they only make sure that your grass is cut and that you can’t build anything a certain feet high because it would overlook into another person’s yard.
I told her, I don’t do HOAs and she said well HOAs are good for some things as she had a neighbor who’s grass wasn’t cut and the weeds were growing over into her yard.
I just looked at her and said, “So you’re willing to give up my Rights and yours to do what we want on our property because a few weeds are growing in your backyard?”
I’m thinking to myself, what’s next? They will tell us that we can’t paint our house a certain color because it is too bright for the neighbor next door?

It’s like saying, “We are not infringing on your Right to bear arms. We are just being ‘less infringing’ by taking a few guns away, but you can keep the rest.” Then after that’s done, they decide to go after another set of guns and so on until you have no Right to bear arms. So what part of “Shall not be infringed” do you not understand???!!! Less or more infringing, you’re still infringing! DUH!!
The same can be said for HOAs. “Less Restrictive” my ass! You think I was born yesterday? That’s how it starts. The next year they will add a new set of “restrictive” rules like the Communist bastards that they are and they will continue each year until you have no Rights to do anything on your property. It’s pure Communism!
Anyways, she basically gave me this answer that said, “Well at least I don’t have to do anything about it and I can pay someone else to punish my neighbor instead of handling it myself.” How Communist of you. I bet you love the “See something, say something” snitch propaganda.

Then she said, “Well all houses being built nowadays have HOAs and all of the houses that I have been a realtor for over the past 22 years have had HOAs. The only ones that don’t are houses built before 1970.”
What a Commie. So she’s basically saying that the Communists have been in control of our housing since 1970. Great. Dumb bitch. She doesn’t even know she’s a Communist nor does she even care that she’s giving away her Rights and Freedoms. Typical.
If you’re looking to buy, be sure to check the county tax assessment value of the house before getting into the negotiating phase with the local realty mafia. Also, sometimes Zillow (Chinese owned now) gives the tax assessment history of the house.
I’ve noticed that realtors are inflating the value of houses to the extreme these days by tens of thousands, as well as developers inflating the value of a lot to the extreme, such as an unimproved lot worth no more than say $2500 with an asking price of $50,000 to $60,000.

and this is the reason why i do not and will not live inside any city limits.. you can’t pay me to live in town..
what pisses me off to no end is that all these imbeciles who can’t run their own lives and get it right pester the local authorities till they pass all these rules and regulations to where you can’t even take a leak in your own bathroom without a communist approved toilet..
if you have a car in your yard then you must have a garage to keep it in or they tow it.. in order to build the garage to keep the car in it has to be approved by the city and the HOA..
you can’t build it yourself.. you not a contractor so you cannot build the structure. your not a plumber so you can’t touch the plumbing. your not an electrician so you can’t wire the structure up.. your not an approved HVACR technician so if you touch the AC unit you can get fined thousands.. even if you meet the aforementioned criteria then you still can’t do it unless your a union member..
if your grass is 1-2 inches too tall then they send a city worker to clear the lot and steal all your stuff and you get fined.
you think you own your property? don’t pay the property taxes a couple years and then resit when they come to throw you off the land and watch the guns come out..
the following happened in Birmingham Alabama a few years back.. if you have a car that does not run that your restoring but it looks a little rusty and some city low life sees it and complains then the city will pry the doors to the shed open while your at work and tow the car, they will then send you a bill for the towing..
you can only have approved BBQ grills..
you cant have a fire place or wood stove because it smokes up the neighborhood and pollutes the air..
oh the paint is chipped or faded on your house, it is an eye sore, either you paint it or face fines..
your tree has a leaf that sticks 2 inches over the property line so schmuck neighbor calls the city and they come out and harass you and threaten you with fines..
you must keep your yard neatly trimmed and kept up in accordance with the new HOA or city guidelines..
and if you do find a piece of paradise out in the boonies then people will start moving in around you and before you know it your in the burbs with a bunch of morons who would loose a battle of wits with a stuffed iguana trying to micro manage everything..
and another thing that pisses me off is they keep saying we all need to go green.. electric cars, solar power, they price it out of range, 30,000$ for starters to do a proper solar array with power storage and that does not include all the permits and other garbage.. can’t do wind because it is annoying to mr i hate everything so im going to make your life miserable also.. the city passes laws because your neighbor who is only alive because it is illegal to kill the f#@ktard kept calling the city complaining that it interfered with their morning bowel movements or some dumb crap..

Exactly what happened to my wife and I. We moved out to farm country in 1996. Our town had a population of ~ 850. Then came the housing boom, where the developers are always right and the people who already live in the area are always wrong. Now the population is ~ 7000, the nannies have tried everything from not allowing anyone to park a boat, RV or any type of work vehicle in your driveway to telling you what colors of paint are acceptable. I want out, but values are still down and nothing is moving. Neighbors have had their homes for sale for a year with no offers.
