St. Martinville, LA — On Monday, Barbara Noel requested an order for protective custody for her son Michael Noel from a local mental health agency. Michael, who’s diagnosed with bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia, was in the midst of a psychotic episode and needed help. He was not violent.
“Everybody in the neighborhood knew Michael,” neighbor Daniel Wagner told the Advocate. “He’s totally nonviolent.”
Michael was talking to himself and began to diminish mentally, but agency members never showed, so Barbara called the local police for help. St. Martin Parish sheriff’s deputies showed up to execute the order, but instead of subduing the unarmed, non-violent man, one deputy shot and killed Michael.
“I didn’t know they was gonna shoot him,” Barbara Noel said through tears on Tuesday.

While executing the order after 6 p.m. Monday, a St. Martin Parish sheriff’s deputy shot Michael Noel in the chest after he resisted restraint and powered through two shocks from a stun gun, according to his mother and aunt, Sable “Pat” Alex, who both witnessed the shooting.
Both women said Michael Noel was unarmed with one handcuff around one wrist when he died near the doorway.
“That’s a good fellow. A real nice fellow,” said Norris Celestine, another neighbor. “And I’m not saying that because of what happened. He was just a real nice person. Would not hurt anyone.”
Barbara explained that her son was terrified of hospitals, courthouses, and police, but that police have successfully intervened in the past during a previous breakdown. When Barbara requested the order on Monday, she asked for someone trained in mental health care.
“(The Coroner’s Office) had to have somebody else than the police. A counselor or something,” she said. “I don’t think they (police) know anything to do about that — how to deal with a mental patient.”
Since the incident, police have been tight-lipped about the details. An autopsy was ordered on Wednesday. However, the results have yet to be publicized.
Both officers involved in the shooting death of Michael Noel have been placed on customary administrative leave.
As the Free Thought Project reported earlier this month, the Virginia-based Treatment Advocacy Center, an organization dedicated to eliminating the barriers faced by those with severe mental illnesses, released a jaw-dropping report on police and the mentally ill. In their report titled, Overlooked in the Undercounted: The Role of Mental Illness in Fatal Law Enforcement Encounters, researchers discovered that people with an untreated mental illness are 16 times more likely to be killed during an interaction with police than anyone else.
According to the study, by all accounts – official and unofficial – a minimum of 1 in 4 fatal police encounters ends the life of an individual with severe mental illness.
Tragically, Michael Noel now becomes one of those four.

I know what you mean. I had a best friend/ex-bro in law who considers himself a “patriot” “help a wannabe psychologist-in-training arrange an “intervention”(also formerly best friend) for me because my daughters were concerned about my mental health because of my loathing for the feds and joos.
Needless to say, I am out 1 best friend, 1 best female friend and 2 daughters. I tried.
With “friends” (more like fiends) like that, who needs Judas Iscariot?!?
It’s sad but yes, I too have lost friends and family because some just don’t see it. Even when completely proven with documented evidence and facts. But the fight must go on. Sad about this kid.
And now they want to label everyone with a mental health diagnosis. “Yep, he was mental, I had to shoot him.”
Most forms of mental illness the problems are functional. It does not mean those people are dangerous to anyone. Its sad. in any case. The really dangerous mentally ill people are the Psychopaths, for which takes many forms. The most dangerous are the ones who manipulate others to do their dirty work. Psychopaths and Sociopaths tend to gravitate toward centers of power because they have no empathy for anyone they will say and do anything to get what they want.
This government at all levels you may as well call SOVIET, because the USSR was a good example of a Psychopathocracy. So is the United States Inc.
The things that this poor man may have been suffering from may have been curable by simply getting at the root cause like a gross Vitamin C deficiency. There are many people who are depressed, and their body’s immune system is taxed to extremes because they are suffering from “parasite burden”. Of course they’re tired. Who wouldn’t be? Kill and clean all the parasites from their body and they start having more energy again. Who’d a thought? Lot of things are curable by getting at the underlying cause. That is something the Medical Profession has failed the public terribly. If doctors did their jobs people would be a lot healthier and happier, and certainly more fit to fight off an oppressive government. Wonder why no one ever gets cured from anything?

I mean let’s face it if your crazy enough to shoot and kill someone that is obviously no threat , than who’s the crazy one ?
Like I always say: if the officers involved in the murder had any honor, they would put a pistol in their mouth, point it slightly upward, then squeeze the trigger. Instead, the scum bags get a free vacation on our dime. I don’t give a rat shit, there is no incident that I can’t handle myself, on our property. (I have already made that clear to the locals.) I’ll never call any law enforcement and I don’t want them calling or visiting me.
