In the aftermath of the Orlando terrorist attack, President Barack Obama today called on Congress to reinstate the assault weapons ban as well as pass legislation to make it harder for suspected terrorists to obtain firearms.
The president said there are a number of “common sense” gun control measures that Congress should take to reduce gun violence without violating the Second Amendment, and for the first time since the deadly shooting Sunday, he enumerated several steps he wants Congress to take.
“People with possible ties to terrorism who are not allowed on a plane shouldn’t be allowed to buy a gun,” Obama said, referring to “no fly, no buy” legislation pending on Capitol Hill that would prevent any suspected terrorists on no-fly lists from buying firearms.
“Reinstate the assault weapons plan,” he added. “Make it harder for terrorists to use these weapons to kill us.”
“Otherwise, despite extraordinary efforts, despite all the sacrifices that folks make, these kinds of events are going to keep on happening,” Obama warned. “And the weapons are only going to get more powerful.”
In a nod to the Treasury Department, which hosted the National Security Council meeting on ISIS today that was part of a regular update on the campaign against ISIS, the president said that ISIS is “now effectively cut off from the international financial system.”
The meeting’s participants — including Vice President Joe Biden and senior national security advisers from the State Department, the Pentagon and the CIA — reviewed efforts to destroy the terrorist group. It was on the president’s schedule before the weekend’s massacre in Orlando, and the attack gave the meeting increased relevance and urgency.
The president added that the U.S. government is “doing everything in our power to stop these kinds of attacks.”
“Our mission is to destroy ISIL,” Obama said, using annother acronym for ISIS, or the Islamic State. “This continues to be a difficult fight, but we are making sufficient progress.”

Quick make the children afraid, Disarm the willing sheep, and let them call and vote disarmament of the non-afraid. Use the soldiers up in far away meat grinders that wouldn’t go along with actions against the Constitution. Call the returning vets that didn’t die, crazy and make the willing sheep go along with taking their rights away, the rights they ironically fought for to preserve… Then slowly pick off the non afraid and take their weapons away by putting them on lists kept up by close door bureaucrats. Ever wondered why the flag is more half pole then in top these days? Even when in the National Hymn, the flagpole keeping up “Oh say can you see” is kept up by the dead bodies of fallen people. Like the African Americans before them, and the Women before the African Americans, the LBGT community wants equal rights. The same rights every other American has/enjoys. There is really nothing new under the sun. Freedom to be yourself is universal, and a society that is nothing more then a pact to live together in peace furthering everyone’s life with the benefits of said society, and not only for some just because they got in power first and set up the laws and rules for others that didn’t believe as they did to live by.

As the “enemy of the state” mentioned there is no due process for putting someone on the no-fly list. How long do you think it will be before Clinton or Trump put activists etc., on the no-fly list just so they can take away their firearms?
