Newsmax – by Sean PiccoliMilitia members and other concerned U.S. citizens are converging on the border town of Laredo, Texas, on Friday to create a blockade against illegal immigrants crossing into the United States, the organizer of the human chain and protest said on Newsmax TV‘s “MidPoint.”
“This will continue for days and weeks to come” and spread “to other points” along the U.S.-Mexico frontier, Barbie Rogers, founder of the Patriots Information Hotline, said in a telephone interview.
Rogers declined to give an exact head count beyond “more than 50 people” or reveal whether participants are armed, citing worries about their security.
But she said blockaders will follow the same rules of engagement as protesters in an April standoff between federal officials and Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy.
“Just like at the Bundy ranch, there will be no patriot out there on that line that will fire first,” Rogers said.
Her website on Wednesday posted a “call to ACTION for all Militia, III%ers, Oathkeepers, and Patriotic support personnel.”
“We are trying to contact every person and every patriot in the United States to go down and help do something the government should have done a long time ago,” Rogers said.
As for whether blockaders are carrying firearms, she said, “The situation these men are walking into — they have a very good possibility of being shot by the drug cartels down there, the gang members down there, and also by our own government down there.”
A surge of migrants from Central America, many of them unaccompanied children, has caught border officials off guard and left federal and state authorities in Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico scrambling to respond.
Rogers said her organization is stepping into the fray with a message: “We’re trying to say that we the people are fed up.”
“The government promised us a wall down there years ago,” Rogers said. “The money … was supposedly given to put this wall up, and it’s not there. Where is it at? Where’s the money at? The government needs to start having accountability to the people.”
Two political analysts appearing on “MidPoint” criticized the blockade as ineffectual and potentially dangerous.
“There really is nobody who I believe rationally … could think that about 50 or so people could really stop the influx of immigration via just a simple human chain,” said liberal commentator Justin Duckham, senior Washington correspondent for Talk Radio News Service.
“Plus, you also have a situation where, if there are any bad actors and somebody gets hurt, this is going to end up to be a disaster,” he said.
“It’s not a good idea,” said conservative commentator and political strategist Erica Holloway, “and probably not as wise as making sure the people that are supposed to be doing their jobs [in immigration enforcement] are doing their jobs.”

This Midpoint reporter is trying to start something and is working for the government to make them look like extremists and trying to get her to make the patriots look bad by drilling her with gun questions and anti-government questions as well as helping them find out how many people we have and where abouts they are located and what their objective is. This reporter ought to be hanged!

She says, “Have you watched the news lately, sir?”
The reporter says, “Yes, as a matter of fact I do, everyday. But we haven’t seen anything of law enforcement shooting on Americans.”

The clip is from a couple of years ago back in late 2012, it was posted in Mar of 2013 and filmed at a survival expo we got a booth at to promote the local citizens Militia’s, as well as give a alternate view as opposed to Texas Militia.org who were there in full Military Uniforms. Bunch of numbskulls. Then they were anyway, not sure about who is associated with that site now.
I’m not sure WHY Newsmax chose to use my mug and what I said as their intro. I contacted them and am still waiting a reply.
Contacting them I made it clear that I did not support what Ms Rogers and her group are doing. We, members of the various militia groups, talked a lot about doing possible border ops in the past. I even spoke personally with a BP Intel Officer in 2011 about us being able to come down there and work not directly with BP, but with their knowledge that we were in the area. Out of courtesy to them and for both our safety and security. He said we would have to contact the local area commanders and see how they responded. Not surprising really. It never got much further than that unfortunately.
The biggest problem, here in Texas, property in this state is privately owned. There are little to no public lands or federal lands (illegal). Without consent of the property owners to be there, we would be trespassing. Then even with an invite, how long could we stay or keep a real presence down there for how long?? How much danger would we put that property owner in from possible retaliation from the cartels?? How much of the border could we really patrol and help out with?? Couple miles maybe??
Then the traffickers and illegals would just go around us and we would be camping out at that point, and getting some good training in at least.
We couldn’t get the help of the local Sheriffs either. So then what? We end up arrested or worse get into a fight with local LEO??
Now these people, including many I know from the Militia’s, are heading down there and staging themselves to do what?? What is the mission and what is their intended goal??
To form a human chain?? To stand in the way of the immigrants coming across the border and turn them back?? IMHO, they are severely lacking on their planning and this is looking like a typical knee jerk reaction to a situation that is too large and too complex for them to begin to have any impact on.
I give them credit for wanting to be active and at least do something. But, what I’ve seen so far is setting themselves and anyone else that calls themselves Militia up to fail.
They are playing into the media hype and walking into the trap the GOV has laid out for them. This is adding fuel to an all ready volatile situation. Unless they can get some acknowledgement and cooperation from Texas State authorities in the area, they are asking for trouble. The idea that they will get that is slim to none from what I know.
It is my firm belief that if they want to make an impact and do something then they should be focusing their efforts on the local citizenry to get THEM to stand up against the mess down there and to stand with them while they demand action. Without the support of the local people, like they had at the Bundy Ranch in NV, then they are blowing smoke, wasting time, and energy, that could be better spent.

It’s interesting to think about how many people are getting to see my ugly mug talking about militias. lol Spent five years trying to get my voice heard and newsmax throws me out there AFTER I’m m longer with the Militia’s. AND probably meant to use me as a whack a nut in the first place.
