Reason to Love Macs? Apple Has Installed a Copy of the Constitution on Every Macintosh

Hmmm, does this make you want to own a MacBook Pro? It looks like Apple has installed a copy of both the Constitution of the United States as well as a copy of the Declaration of Independence on all of their machines.

According to The Unofficial Apple Weblog,

Sometimes when I see just how ignorant many American politicians are of the Constitution of the United States, I get the urge to send them a copy along with some annotations. Perhaps now that more of those in the federal government are using Macs, we might begin to see them paying more attention to this document that outlines the supreme law of the land.

Why? Well, there’s a copy of the U.S. Constitution on each and every Mac in the Dictionary app.

To see this information from The New Oxford American Dictionary, just launch the Dictionary app from your Applications folder. Once it’s up and running, go up to the menu bar and select Go > Front/Back Matter. There you’ll not only find such exciting information as who was on the editorial staff and advisory board for the Dictionary, but also a bunch of useful references.

I tried this myself and the documents are most certainly there.

Pretty handy stuff. Of course, Apple also includes technology for tracking your phone and computer in their operating system (this is pretty much common practice nowadays), so take the CONUS thing with a grain of salt.

  1. I trust Apple about as much as I trust Microsoft, which is to say I don’t nor will I ever trust either one of them with anything, especially since Microsoft basically owns Apple anyways.

  2. Note that it is the constitution of the federal corporate US. Wooptie doo! Apple sux especially for this one. I bet they will change the wording remotely from day to day.

Dont hold your breath on that , they dont even pay any attention to their true responsibilities , doubt if they had this tattooed on their foreheads that they would pay it any mind

  4. That ‘copy’ – watch – will probably contain a backdoor for the NSA and government, allowing them easy access to your entire system.

If not that, the ‘door’ is already there, trust me…..
