My days are shaded gray
And my nights are shaded blue
My face is lined with worry
And my mind is split in two
Feel just like a man
Who’s last real hope is gone
Morality and religion
Didn’t teach me right from wrong
And I need a little something
Oh, just to mellow my days
‘Cause I’m getting tired of acting
In lifes one act play
The world is changing fast
Ain’t got time to think twice
Wanna keep on the ball
Then you got to pay the price
You can’t judge the future
By looking at the past
And there ain’t nobody out there
Who you can stop and ask
Oh, I need a little something
Just to mellow my days
‘Cause I’m getting tired of acting
In lifes one act play
Some people think, oh yes, they do
They found the way
But they’re a dime a dozen
You can see them everyday
Some people are happy
In their delusions
Oh, I wish sometimes
I could share, I could share their illusions
But nobody really knows
What this life is all about
Those who think they do
Are the ones who should have doubts
Sometimes I wonder
What they are going to do
When their cozy dreams are shattered
And reality shows through
Oh, I need a little something
Just to mellow my days
‘Cause I’m getting tired of acting
In lifes one act play
And I need a little something
Just to mellow my days
‘Cause I’m getting tired of acting
In lifes one act play
In lifes one act play
In lifes one act play
In lifes one act play
Savoy Brown is generally known for boogie, but this one I would classify as blues. Great song with some good lyrics (although I don’t agree 100% with all of them).
“Some people are happy

Definitely pass on the sharing!
“Sometimes I wonder
What they are going to do
When their cozy dreams are shattered
And reality shows through”
I have a pretty fair idea… FEMA, ditchside, or suicide.
Savoy Brown, the band was true, authentic rock and roll at it’s best. Prophetic to say the least, they came up in a time when talent was the driving force, not bells and whistles with fancy-pantsy promotion from people who think they know what you want.
In today’s “Millie Vanilli” world, talent means nothing. It’s like going to the “Big Box Store”, buying your box, getting home and finding that there’s nothing in it. You want it, you ain’t got it, Toyota!
