A video is rapidly going viral of a school resource officer in South Carolina choking and slamming a high school student who was sitting at her desk.
The incident took place on Monday at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, and was captured on camera by two different students from different angles.
“The student was told she was under arrest for disturbing school and given instructions which she again refused,” Sheriff Leon Lott told WIS-TV. “The video then shows the student resisting and being arrested by the SRO.”
The videos captured the teenage girl sitting at her desk in her classroom when Officer Ben Fields approached and grabbed her before wrapping his arm around her throat. The desk flips over as he throws her to the ground and out of view of the camera.

Reporter Shaun King stated that both students and graduates have told him that Fields has been brutal like this for years.
The girl had reportedly been verbally disruptive of the class, not violent.
Prior to police becoming a regular presence in schools, which should be safe spaces for our children, this seems like it would have been the type of matter you would be sent to the principal’s office and had your parents called over.
If this sort of assault was conducted at home by a parent, or really anyone without a badge it would be correctly considered child abuse.
“Parents are heartbroken as this is just another example of the intolerance that continues to be of issue in Richland School District Two particularly with families and children of color,” a group calling themselves the Richland Two Black Parents Association wrote in a statement. “As we have stated in the past, we stand ready to work in collaboration to address these horrible acts of violence and inequities among our children”.
Following the video going viral, the school district announced that Officer Fields has been “banned” pending the outcome of an investigation.

Are they brain dead or what? To me, this is as pathetic as that brute man handling that girl. They should receive some consequences for their compliance. I don’t know what that would be, but surely something in the common law must address this.

I don’t see any white students. Sorry, I cannot comment on another tribes problems with our school system. Learn to learn is what I say. Police are there for you. Not me. You. Not my kids or grand-kids. The police are there for you. To protect society and social unrest. Stop what you do and all will be taken into consideration, BUT, the police will remain on your campus so that they can respond to social UNREST!
Another pig demonstrates how “tough” he is by roughing up a teenage girl. Something tells me he wouldn’t try that with a large, muscular male. He’d probably go straight to the Taser, baton, or even his gun — unless, of course, he had some fellow pigs there to back up his cowardly ass.
The students in that class learned one of the most valuable lessons of their lives that day: the police are NOT “the good guys,” and they are NOT there to ensure anyone’s safety except their own.
The more videos like this that go viral, the better. There are still plenty of Americans who need awakening.

Wow, this SRO attacks what appears to be the only female in the classroom, and the males just sit there zombified and neutered. This is how today’s children are being indoctrinated to accept the police state. Pathetic!
Last week, a cop in this area was caught sleeping on duty in his patrol car, pillow and all, and was forced to resign. Everyday we hear stories of cops beating, tasing, raping, murdering and more. Nothing happens to them except they receive a paid vacation, and a statement from their superiors that they were in the right. I don’t know how much more of this I can take. When do we draw the line! As Henry said, we are way past the moral high ground.
Since this cowardly officer has been known to be this way in the past, the family needs to sue the liberal school for allowing him to work there. Sue them for all you can. It is also the school’s responsibility to make sure their children are safe from ANYONE whether it is a teacher, student for “resource officer.” Make them pay so that they sit up and take notice that their libtard ways will not be accepted.

What is this country coming to any more … next thing ya know a Principal will be telling an Agent or Employee how they must properly perform their duties as clearly established by the statutes, regulations and codes and we just can’t tolerate that !!!
