State of Illinois suing inmates for cost of prison

CW 39

CHICAGO – They say ‘crime doesn’t pay’ but it sure could cost you if you live in the state of Illinois. The Chicago Tribune reports the Illinois Department of Corrections has been suing prisoners for the cost of their incarceration after they’re released.

The law allowing this practice, which was enacted in 1982, has reportedly been used on 11 inmates in the first 10-months of this year. A huge uptick in frequency, which is probably why this article started gaining traction. Check out what they have to say, and see if you think this is the justice system at its best.

  1. That’s okay. The jails will be emptied, and all of those prisoners will have a free hand at seeking revenge against their captors.

Today you might be making a few bucks by giving insuring that someone else is forced to endure a life of undeserved misery, and tomorrow he might have your babies on a barbeque grill.

I’m looking forward to the cannibalism. Roast ’em alive, and cook ’em slowly so they have plenty of time for screaming in agony. There’s plenty of food for everyone when you start eating your enemies.
