Koyote. I’m mostly playin’ here, philosophical meanderings. When Henry uttered those words today they rang deep and true. It’s kind of like a spiritual Bill of Rights. Because if somebody is closer to God than anybody else (ha! try proving that) then they would in some way manifest a superiority that attempts to diminish the closeness to God of all others.
I’ll keep playin’ if you toss the ball back, but as we both know, the intangible is, of course, open to interpretation.

When I say no one is closer to God than anybody else, the reference is to individuality.
There absolutely is no two of us exactly the same, hence it is physically impossible for God to be exactly the same to any two of us. I was referencing the use of interpretation by those it would benefit to make their interpretation the only interpretation.
Ten thousand years ago, it was the shaman. How godly or in touch with the spirits he or she was, is and always has been, how much smarter he or she was than the people they controlled. Just by being a little sneakier and a little more devious, the shaman sat on his ass while others did the work of hunting and gathering, and the shaman, in interpreting for the spirits, put forth interpretations accepted as the gospel of the time. Things like when a young girl first bleeds, the shaman takes her first to put the blessing of the spirits in her.
Religion has been used in this manner since the beginning of time.
Anyone is going to be closer to their own interpretation of their being than the fella standing next to them, so the idea that the king’s interpretation supported by the shaman of the time, the cardinals down to the monks, was, is, and will forever always be pure unmitigated bullshit.
It is and will always be nothing more than organized force to parasite from those who are weaker than the collective.
What my interpretation of that which makes me me does not allow someone else’s interpretation of who I am to them in their interpretation of who they are disturb my inner peace and subjugate me to them.
I should have said that no one’s interpretations are more relevant or as relevant to another person as that other person’s own interpretation.
And why do we do the things we do? In the holiest and most unholiest aspects, it is for survival. It is when the individual interpretation of self is removed and replaced by the interpretation of another via force, that the most simple thing, survival, is morphed into the abomination of servitude to not only another’s survival, but forced dominance over the individual that the most natural of things is morphed into the most unnatural of things.
