Trump: ‘I Will Never, Ever Infringe on the Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms’

CNS News – by Melanie Arter

President Donald Trump pledged to never infringe on the 2nd Amendment during a speech at the National Rifle Association’s meeting in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday.

“We all took an oath to preserve and protect the Constitution of the United States, and that means defending the 2nd Amendment. So let me make a simple to every one of the freedom-loving Americans in the audience today: as your president, I will never, ever infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms – never, ever,” Trump said.

“Freedom is not a gift from government. Freedom is a gift from God,” he added.

Trump said he was “proud to receive the NRA’s earliest endorsement in the history of the organization” and also “proud to be the first sitting president to address the NRA Leadership Forum since our wonderful Ronald Reagan in 1983.”

“When I spoke to this forum last year, our nation was still mourning the loss of a giant, a great defender of the Constitution – Justice Antonin Scalia. I promised that if elected, I would nominate a justice who would be faithful and loyal to the Constitution. I even went one step further and publicly presented a list of 20 judges from which I would make my selection, and that’s exactly what we did,” Trump said.

The president kept his promise by nominating Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.

“For the first time in the modern political era, we have confirmed a new justice in the 1st 100 days. The last time that happened was 136 years ago in 1881,” Trump said.

“We’ve also taken action to stand up for America’s sportsmen. On their very last full day in office, the previous administration issued an 11th hour rule to restrict the use of lead ammunition on certain federal lands,” Trump said, but that rule was eliminated on Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke’s first day in office.

“We’ve also moved very quickly to restore something gun owners care about very, very much. It’s called the rule of law. We have made clear that our administration will always stand with the incredible men and women of law enforcement. In fact, countless members of law enforcement are also members of the NRA, because our police know that responsible gun ownership saves lives and that the right of self-defense is essential to public safety,” the president said.

“Our police and sheriffs also know that when you ban guns, only the criminals will be armed, Trump said.

“For too long, Washington has gone after law-abiding gun owners, while making life easier for criminals, drug dealers, traffickers, and gang members. MS-13 … it’s not pleasant for them anymore folks,” he said. “We are protecting the freedoms of law-abiding Americans, and we are going after the criminal gangs and cartels that prey on our innocent citizens, and we are really going after them.”

The president praised Attorney General Jeff Sessions as a someone who believes in law and order and “spent his entire career fighting crime, supporting the police and defending the 2nd Amendment.”

“He’s going after the drug dealers who are peddling their poison all over our streets and destroying our youth. He’s going after the gang members who threaten our children, and he’s fully enforcing our immigration law in all 50 states, and you know what? It’s about time,” Trump said.

  1. Would love to make a long rebuttal to this absolute dreck…but I’m traveling to visit my daughter, GB the trenchers…DTTNWO

  2. nd we are supposed to believe him being that he’s flip flopped so many times? Anything he says he’s going to do or not do, he does the opposite..

  3. “We’ve also moved very quickly to restore something gun owners care about very, very much. It’s called the rule of law….”

So we shall continue making crimes of absurd things so we can “legally” ::snickers:: take away your guns and what else we please, at our convenience.

Example being pot is a schedule 1 drug [felony].

There is no need to mention all the crooks in gov from CONgress and down that act freely w/ impunity.

    1. yepper—that agenda was written out long before the outcome of the election and so far he has fallen in line with everything they want to do to us OTHERWISE he would pull out of the UN Small Arms Act—funny how he made no mention of that

  4. Yeah…and my cheating x wife said until death do us part too…on our marriage contract.
I’m not sure if I’m a believer yet.

  5. I don’t need some jew puppet to tell me i can own a gun. What i have is none of your or anyone else s business. You can KMA.

  6. So then how long will it take for this psycho idiot to “pass legislation” to take our guns away? tomorrow? Next week? Next month? Next year? And I am damned glad all “Trenchers” know exactly what this psycho is saying! And it didn’t take this psycho bombing Syria for not reason to convince me everything this psycho says means he wants to do the opposite! And do I need to remind everyone here this psycho does what he is told? Of course not!

  7. Here’s a clue, Mr. Trump:

The government of which you are now president is ALREADY infringing on the 2nd Amendment in ways too numerous to count. Do I really need to provide examples?

In addition, the very existence of a massive, powerful standing infantry violates the spirit of the 2nd Amendment. The whole purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to ensure that ultimate power over the government is in the hands of the People. The population must ALWAYS have sufficient means to forcible topple the government, should enough of the population decide that to be necessary. While I believe the People still have this capability, it is undoubtedly diminishing with time and could disappear in as little as ten years.

One other thing, Trump: do you realize that there’s more to the Bill of Rights than the 2nd Amendment? You know…like the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.? How much respect have you shown to those amendments, asshole?

  8. ” IT will be great, fantastic everyone will have bare arms, beautiful bare arms, just beautiful. I love bare arms, they are fantastic. Many of my people have bare arms, we can’t have enough bare arms,”

  9. We live in a time when owning a gun isn’t going to make that much of a difference , and they know that. They have drones, magic bullets, atmospheric weapons, psychology, advanced imagery, etc, etc. While I do not want to hand over any of our weapons, Iam no fool in thinking they will make a big difference. While a lot of Americans may have guns, most don’t know how to use them. They are killing, maiming or flying our best American defense overseas in these useless wars for a reason. And the ones who have never served don’t have the mind set to defend themselves and others in the split seconds it takes. It has only ever been will, defiance, bravery, righteousness, truth and brotherly love for our fellow man that rises us up from the animal existence they wish upon us. If we wait, hoping our guns will save us, what will we be living for, what will be left to defend. I believe they will let us “cling” to our guns in some sense of perverted false security. For while we believe as long as we have them it isn’t to late. We wait, they don’t. I am not a defeatist, but a realist. As long as they continue to try and take the guns, I am sure they are still afraid of us. It’s when they don’t care if we have them that scares me.

    1. *** We live in a time when owning a gun isn’t going to make that much of a difference , and they know that. ***

One gun might not make that much difference, but millions and millions of guns in the possession of people who live right here in the same territory as the Empire’s minions can make an ENORMOUS difference. The US military has nowhere near the manpower to deal with such a huge opposition, particularly one that’s spread out across the very same territory in which military personnel and their own families live.

*** They have drones, magic bullets, atmospheric weapons, psychology, advanced imagery, etc, etc. ***

Those fancy weapons must have made things very easy for the Empire to conquer Iraq and Afghanistan, eh? And get this: in those places the Empire was fighting people who were very badly outnumbered and, most important, had almost no ability to counterattack on US soil. They could only play defense.

In the US, lone individuals who were set off for whatever reason have been able to take out numerous police state agents before being stopped. Why didn’t drones, “magic bullets,” and “atmospheric weapons” (whatever that is) prevent that?

The truth is that living on the same territory as your potential opponents — dwelling in the same neighborhoods, shopping at the same stores, etc. — changes the WHOLE ballgame.

*** While a lot of Americans may have guns, most don’t know how to use them. ***

Most don’t know how to use them well enough, that’s true. But that absolutely includes the police and military.

*** They are killing, maiming or flying our best American defense overseas in these useless wars for a reason. ***

Yeah: to make money for “defense” contractors and to support Israel.

Why are they our “best”? Because they serve the Empire?

*** And the ones who have never served don’t have the mind set to defend themselves and others in the split seconds it takes. ***

I strongly disagree. Serving the Evil Empire is not a prerequisite for developing the proper mindset. Plenty of people who have never “served” have fought against the pigs and killed several before dying themselves or being captured.

*** It has only ever been will, defiance, bravery, righteousness, truth and brotherly love for our fellow man that rises us up from the animal existence they wish upon us. ***

      No argument on that point.

*** If we wait, hoping our guns will save us, what will we be living for, what will be left to defend. ***

Maybe I’m not quite following, but you seem to contradict yourself here. If our guns are basically inconsequential, then why would the Empire be afraid of us and want to take those guns?

      1. Excellent reply, BMF!

I rarely take the time to break down every single sentence is a STUPID comment, but you’ve done so admirably.

    2. “And the ones who have never served don’t have the mind set to defend themselves and others in the split seconds it takes.”

This statement you made is a crock of sh!t!!

You are a defeatist! A scared defeatist!

This message aint intended to be friendly!

This kind of BS talk boils me!

      Don’t bother responding.

I have no time for pussies!!!!!

      THE END!

    3. “I believe they will let us “cling” to our guns in some sense of perverted false security.”

And I believe that only an unmitigated moron would believe such any such thing.

We’re the ONLY well-armed population LEFT on this planet these days. You’re an idiot if you don’t think they’re afraid of our guns.

The FEMA camps AND the ditches would be filled to overflowing by now, if THAT were the case!

  10. ‘I Will Never, Ever Infringe on the Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms’

That’s right! And you will not here without a quick, Sharp answer!

    Figure Head!

  11. The fact is that they have to come out to try to take them. That is the day they find out they have made a ” grave” mistake. Let em try and let’s see what happens.

    1. Resistance makes a difference as we out number them, hence their push for population control. Sure, some of may have to die so others remain free and regardless of their weapons superiority, they can’t kill us all for when it comes down to it, that is when we will band together for a common cause, which will surprise them as it’s something they don’t count on. They can run all the scenarios, algorithms etc they want, one thing they can’t run a program on is the human spirit, the human will. and as you can see, that is why they are indoctrinating the younger generations now, to become passive sheep led to the slaughter and in the interim, their ultimate plan is for the older generations to die off, the older thinking to disappear—it’s a waiting game for them for in the end they know thy can’t win without manipulation the youth into becoming subservient, hence they start by redefining words which serve to social engineer the masses….

  12. “…and he’s fully enforcing our immigration law in all 50 states, and you know what? It’s about time,”

Go blow that smoke up someone else’s a$$, H-rump.

  13. Sorry for upsetting a lot of you, had a bad day and thought out loud, my bad. But, depending on what area of the country you live in, my comments were not off the mark. Just an unfortunate and blunt way of looking at it. I am a veteran of our military, and took the vow of defending, foreign or domestic. The “state of the nation” affends me, deeply. I am also the mother of two sons. One who also served in our tyrannical government military, he returned, and I pray for those who, like my son, have witnessed the horrors of war as well for the families of those who who’s loved ones wont be returning. He has also made me a grandma. There is no better heart adjustment then babies, or “mother bear ” defiance. My education has allowed me to see those of the left and right, and I do not like either. I Want Peace Made, Not Kept. I am a Christ follower, not a sheep who follows false prophets. I greatly appreciated every ones comments on mine, (except Hal). I like to keep an open mind to be able to hear both sides and my positive side agrees with most of the rebuttals, but I still have my doubts, but, I guess Free speech isn’t allowed here either. Or, maybe, the others don’t chime in because it’s not worth the excoriating, hateful, you don’t know them, comments. Hope this helps some of you, and to those it doesn’t, I could care less. If this isn’t a site that wishes or respects others, let me know. Life is to short to side up with just smoke blowers. And, finally to Hal, it must be nice to talk tough to someone you don’t know, your comment is the only reason I replied back.

    1. O.K. Netter, I apologize for the moron/idiot in my reply on this one. Understand this, however, there is one subject that does NOT go over well on this site, one that will be shown an extremely low tolerance for… defeatism.

We will NOT acquiesce to tyranny.

    2. Netter: Just tell them; “They’re not you, they don’t count”, so don’t stress out on others replies, Remain true to yourself and your views ans whether or not anyone agrees, they should at least respect that
