US Preparing Brazil For Military Assault On Venezuela

Abel Danger

Ed. note: As we have been outlining in several posts at AD, US economic policy planners are not going to stop until they get what they want in Venezuela with President Maduro removed from office. Once Brazil is accepted into NATO like there is now talk on, and there is even the slightest provocation by Venezuela, that will allow Brazil to bring its powerful military down on Venezuela. Outside of the US military, Brazil has the second largest military in the hemisphere. The US-backed Random Guy™ Juan has failed and so this new strategy using Brazil for military intervention has been slowly rolled out. The more aggression against Venezuela increases, the more Venezuela will be forced to turn to Russia and China for economic survival.”The fight is on” and its in the US hemisphere.

US strongly looking at NATO membership for Brazil – Trump

US President Donald Trump has said that he is seriously looking at NATO membership or some other formal alliance with Brazil as he welcomed Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to the White House on Tuesday.

Bolsonaro made an unusual trip to the CIA headquarters yesterday, the first day of his trip to the US during which he hopes to articulate a pro-US stance and to expand trade ties and diplomatic cooperation.

Brazil’s president was one of the first to throw his support behind Venezuela’s pro-US opposition leader Juan Guaido after Trump declared support for him in January.

Ahead of Bolsonaro’s trip, a senior Trump administraion official touted the “historic remaking” of the US-Brazil relationship to McClatchy.

Bolsonaro endorsed Trump’s southern border wall and immigration policy in an interview with Fox News on Monday night and echoed Trump’s own rhetoric, saying that the “vast majority” of potential immigrants “do not have good intentions.”

“They do not intend to do the best or do good to the US people,” he said.

The right-wing leader, who rose to the presidency after an anti-establishment campaign modelled on Trump’s own 2016 candidacy, has been branded the ‘Trump of the Tropics’ by some media.

“I’m willing to open my heart up to [Trump] and do whatever is good, to the benefit of both the Brazilian and the American people,” he told Fox.

Venezuela – Journalists Doubt Guaidó’s Legitimacy – Regime Change Plans Continue

On February 23 the U.S. created a ‘humanitarian aid’ stunt at the border between Colombia and Venezuela. The stunt ended in a riot during which the supporters of the self declared ‘president’ Guaidó burned the trucks that where supposed to transport the ‘aid’. Even the New York Times had to admit that.

The riots also marked the day that Guaidó lost the legal argument he had used to make himself ‘interim president’.

Guaido also lost his original legal position. He claimed the presidency on January 23 under this paragraph of article 233 of the Venezuelan constitution:

When an elected President becomes permanently unavailable to serve prior to his inauguration, a new election by universal suffrage and direct ballot shall be held within 30 consecutive days. Pending election and inauguration of the new President, the President of the National Assembly shall take charge of the Presidency of the Republic.

That the “elected President becomes permanently unavailable” was never the case to begin with. But if article 233 would apply Guaido would have had 30 days to hold new elections. The 30 days are over and Guaido did not even call for elections to be held. He thereby defied the exact same paragraph of the constitution that his (false) claim to the presidency is based on.

The hapless coup plotters in Washington DC were finally put on notice that the issue creates a legal problem for them. During a March 15 press briefing Elliott Abrams, the U.S. Special Representative for Venezuela, was asked about the issue:

QUESTION: [C]ould you explain to us the article under which Mr. Guaido declared himself president? It is said that it has expired last month. Could you explain that to us? What is the —

MR ABRAMS: As to the Venezuelan constitution, the National Assembly has passed a resolution that states that that 30-day period of interim presidency will not start ending or counting until the day Nicolas Maduro leaves power. So the 30 days doesn’t start now, it starts after Maduro. And they – that’s a resolution of the National Assembly.

A resolution of the National Assembly, which the Supreme Court of Venezuela holds in contempt over the seating illegally elected persons, can change the country’s constitution? That does not sound convincing to me. The journalists in the briefing were equally curious of how the rules could be changed like that during the ongoing game:

Q: When did they – they did that after he —
A: They did that – this is roughly a month ago. We could try to find the date for you.
Q: When he was – when he was – took the mantle of interim president, that wasn’t there.
A: Yes, when – that’s correct. And so people —
Q: Can you do that ex post facto like that?
A: When people ask a question how do —
Q: That seems to be like saying I was elected for four years to be president, and then two years in you change the rules so that your term didn’t start – hasn’t even started yet. How does that happen?
A: Well, you don’t get a vote because you’re not in the National Assembly.
Q: Well, you don’t. You’re not in the National Assembly either.
Q: If it matters, does the U.S. view that as constitutional under their system?
A: Yes. I mean, we’re taking the – the National Assembly is the only legitimate democratic institution left in Venezuela, and their interpretation of the constitution, as you know, is that as of the date of this alleged term for Maduro, the presidency is vacant. But they have also said that that 30-day period starts when Maduro goes.
Q: So Juan Guaido is the interim president of an interim that doesn’t exist yet?
A: The 30-day end to his interim presidency starts counting. Because he’s not in power, that’s the problem. Maduro is still there. So they have decided that they will count that from when he actually is in power and Maduro’s gone. I think it’s logical.
Q: So then he really isn’t interim president, then?
A: He is interim president, but he’s not —
Q: With no power.
A: — able to exercise the powers of the office because Maduro still is there.
Q: So their interpretation is that until and unless he actually has the power to run the country, he’s not actually the interim president?
A: No. Their interpretation is that the constitution requires a 30-day interim period, but it – those 30 days should not be counted while Maduro is still there exercising the powers of his former office.

Here is a video of the exchange. (Abrams seems to be lying about the alleged National Assembly resolution.)

Of all the countries Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro could visit as Brazil’s newly “elected” president, Bolsonaro decides to visit Israel just after visiting President Trump and the CIA. This should be an important indicator as to what might be coming with military intervention in Venezuela. That Jair Bolsonaro visited CIA headquarters first before visiting with President Trump should tell us all we need to know about what’s next for Venezuela. That would be military intervention. Brazil agreeing to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem may cause a serious risk to Brazil’s halal meat exports to Arab countries. Something Bolsonara will be discussing with Israel when he visits next month as preparations are made for military intervention.

“That a Brazilian President visits the CIA, the agency responsible for violent coups and brutal dictatorships in Latin American is disgusting. Many people in Brazil will dislike it. Supporting a CIA coup in a neighboring country is worse. It’s hard to sink any lower.”

In addition to possibly becoming a NATO country, Brazil has also been invited to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) which is a very exclusive club by any standards. The OECD presently has 50 members with only four countries in the same hemisphere as Brazil including the US, Chile, Canada and Mexico. There is an enormous shift happening in the world with the vast majority of the population completely oblivious to this change. As Brazil continues to become a considerably powerful nation, Venezuela is antithetical to this forced change.

This is some background on the guy from Brazil the CIA invited to their headquarters in Washington then over for a visit with President Trump. Can readers comprehend death squads surrounding President Bolsonaro of Brazil? President Donald Trump: A suggestion would be to invite Venezuelan President Maduro to Washington for a serious man-to-man talk. Don the real estate guy promised there would be no more interference in how other countries are run, remember?

How Brazil’s militias wield terror to seize power from drug gangs

Brazil was once called the “United States of Brazil” and imitated much of the United States. It has become a significant world power with an equally powerful military but not recognized as such by most other countries. Considering this, Brazil is going through rapid change and the first order of business will be their neighbor to the north Venezuela. Once accepted into the OECD this will be a huge financial coup for Brazil.

There are already Israel IDF soldiers in Brazil dispatched there for search-and-rescue assistance after a dam at an iron-ore mine collapsed this past January, 2019. The question remains why Israel’s IDF for search-and-rescue when there are so many other countries closer to Brazil including the US that could have sent assistance? Israel and Brazil have a long relationship going back to 1964 related to military involvement under Brazil’s military dictatorship.

As this continuing effort at intervention in Venezuela with Venezuela’s assets being redirected towards the opposition under the Random Guy™ Juan, it makes us wonder what Rep. Ilhan Omar’s position would be on Venezuela as events escalate towards Brazilian military invention at the behest of the US? It is looking as though those “universal values” Omar is talking about are going to be exempted for Brazil and probably Palestine.

Ilhan Omar: We must apply our universal values to all nations. Only then will we achieve peace.

Uh huh, another lie he’s making good on! Lesson- Anything these criminal politicians say, simply invert 180 degrees, then you’ll know exactly what they are saying as well as what they will do. Common Core Logic-101.

    1. He meant AFTER the installation of a puppet regime Katie.

Then no ‘interference’ is necessary… just ‘instructions’ (suggestions).
