NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Police are looking for two suspects in a robbery at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo says two masked men bound two employees and fled with an undetermined amount of cash from the Smart Carte office in the prescreening area inside Terminal B on Sunday.
No one was injured and airport operations were not interrupted.
Smart Carte provides self-serve luggage carts, electronic lockers, commercial strollers and massage chairs.
Lol
So much for airport security
Or even airport terminal security
What a joke
Of all places to pull of a theft crime , and they got away with it
For the awake , this should tell you something
I was thinking the same thing — and this isn’t the first time airport security has failed miserably.
Though I can’t condone robbery, I do consider stories like this to be encouraging in a way, since they demonstrate that the supposed omniscience of “Big Brother” is a myth. Airports are obviously among the most heavily surveilled places in the country. Yet a couple of guys can commit a robbery at one and not get caught immediately?
Foreign companies or foreign countries I should say send all their US cash via airplane to Newark to be distributed to the different banks. This is what happens all the time at Newark airport, there was a Robert Di Niro movie made about it, like 20 or 25 years ago. They just put the US cash in big bags and send it through the airline like it’s regular luggage but with tighter security, obviously an inside job, this is the only way it can be accomplished .
I should add, it’s unmarked money ripe for the pickings
it’s the currency that comes from when you want to change US currency into whatever country’s currency you happen to be dealing with. Then they take that US money, put it all altogether and send it back to the US.
So much for TSA. We’re they all on a lunch break at the time? 🙄
What are we paying them for?
Oh yea, to look at naked pictures of us and feel up everyone at the airport while the robbers take the money and run.
Hell, the TSA was probably in on it. Especially since they confiscate drugs and make money off them afterwards.
