Two men have been arrested in the killing of a teenage boy over an iPad in Las Vegas, police said Sunday.
Jacob Dismont, 18, and Michael Solid, 21, were booked Saturday into the Clark County jail on charges of open murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
According to investigators, Marcos Arenas, 15, was walking down a street with the iPad on Thursday when a passenger got out of a vehicle and tried to steal the device from him.
Dismont is accused of trying to wrest the tablet away and dragging Arenas toward the SUV when the youth wouldn’t let go of the device. After Dismont re-entered the vehicle and Solid sped away, the teen was dragged until he fell. The vehicle ran over Arenas and he died at a hospital.
“I think both the public and police department share the same sentiment that this was a senseless act of violence,” police spokesman Bill Cassell told The Associated Press.
The suspects succeeded in making off with the device, officers said.
Ivan Arenas said he bought the iPad for his son less than two months ago. The family has never had a lot, the father said, and his son valued everything he had.
“For him to lose his life over an iPad, it’s just not fair,” Ivan Arenas told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Never in my life would I imagine that me buying my kid an iPad for his birthday would end up with him getting run over.”
Similar thefts of iPads, IPhones and other Apple devices have become so widespread nationwide that the crime has earned the nickname, “Apple picking,” Cassell said.
“This is a nationwide phenomenon where thieves are targeting individuals who are carrying them,” he said.
Police urge victims of such crimes to always let go of the devices.

This is my last post here, and I bet most anything this wont even show up, but the moderators will read it. Any website that uses WRH as a promotion tool, with rivero/dawson, is, IMO, a traitor to the truth. I wont post here anymore, and I wont visit this website anymore, and many are following the same.
Good luck all, and keep seeking the truth without the spin..You wont find it on WRH, an obama supporter, chemtrail denier, among 100 more examples I can prove..
God doesnt have to bless America, but may God bless those that seek the real truth.
Jennifer, you are sadly mistaken if you think we advocate for Mike Rivero and WRH on this website. I used to listen to Rivero but he treats anyone that doesn’t agree with him worst than Chris Matthews on Hardball. Hey, I think Rush Limbicle is looking for new fans! See Ya!
Jennifer,
What does WRH and Mike R. have to do with From the Trenches???
I quit listening to Mike R. years ago. I gave him a few months of listening to him and he ain’t my line of thinking. Are you talking about how WRH will post articles off of From the Trenches, or what?
Explain yourself woman!!!
Hey Smilardog, I think Jennifer is a lost cause. She appears to be a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
Did I hear somebody say…Picnic? I am Ready!
You’re right, Smilardog. I’ve heard JD mention that he’s seen articles from FTT posted there.
And Rivero has posted comments on a few articles here, too.
Jennifer, I haven’t a clue as to what the hell you’re ranting about. I NEVER post on WHR, nor do I EVER send Henry (he can verify this) ANY articles from there. In fact, I haven’t even been to that site in over three years, since long before I started posting on FTT.
You need to get a grip.
Seriously.
thanks for the comments…WRH posts many trenches articles, its probably from a paid subscriber, cause if you give money to rivero he will post anything.
My apologies, I thought it was trenches that got it going. Again thanks for your comments, and thanks to trenches for posting my original comment, it was quite controversial and I did not think you would post it…It was good to get it out there tho.
You know what? I turned off my internet for two days. What a wonderful feeling, and here I am back on it. I dont like this anymore, it takes too much of my time…I have a farm and even my animals saw a difference in me…I got to thinking, if I was in a coma for two weeks, no internet, what would i truly miss? NOTHING. Everything is always the same. I did not like webmasters putting down AJ tho…he has his problems but we are all in this together, and he does some good work..Putting aj down shoots your ownself in the foot.. ALtho,, being more of a spiritual person, “this is not a battle between flesh and blood, its a battle of spirit” many websites, including aj make it a fleshly battle, and I think its taking away from my true being created by God thru Jesus Christ..
My apologies for assuming, and maybe I will get back to ya in a couple of weeks..but starting tomorrow my internet is going off.
God doesnt need to bless America, may God bless those of us who question and learn. We are individuals, not americans, canadians etc. We are human beings created in the likeness of Jesus Christ.
Thanks trenches for posting this..get back to you maybe in a couple weeks..
My apologies as well Jennifer. I was only “going to bat” for what I believe is the best website for those seeking the truth.
The reason From the Trenches articles are published on What Really Happened is because we are members. We submit the articles in our effort to spread the information and the site and he decides what he will put up on his front page. We do not pay Mike Rivero anything.
I vehemently disagree with Mike on many issues but he does call the Zionists out and I see him moving further and further toward our argument. From the Trenches has been attacked relentlessly since the site became known to the enemy. Each time Mike has been the first to put our articles up, front and center and help us get back on our feet.
From the Trenches promotes all true patriot websites, big and small. This is not a competition, but rather a quest to spread information as quickly and as far as possible.
We here on this site are a council of elders, the concept of which our enemies have sought to destroy along with family and religion. The people who contribute and write articles and comments on this site are awake and of above average intelligence and have, through logical argument brought hoards of American nationals back into reality.
There seems to be a few people out there of late, claiming to be patriots who do not like the way we do things here, perhaps because we have succeeded where they have failed. I guess maybe these are some of those people who figure that they are just so smart that if a site like From the Trenches exists, it should be theirs and under their control. They are actually hostile and make threats because I will not change how people are brought in to be a part of the council we offer here. To all of these pukes I say, go to hell as it is your stupid decision making that brought us to the point of ruin.
From the Trenches belongs to the American nationals and the regulars who write here make this site happen. And I am honored to be among your company, as what we are doing is honest and real. It is something we can be proud of.
The enemies of our Republic would love to eliminate From the Trenches and that is a battle we fight every day. But it is truly disgusting when those calling themselves patriots put forth their petty threats when we will not let them take us over.
Stay the course.

Jennifer:
You’re clearly out of your mind of you can attack Rivero and defend Jones in the same paragraph. I have my doubts about Rivero’s honesty too, but I usually don’t express them publicly because I could be wrong. Please accept that people of varying opinions, and varying degrees of knowledge, may be working toward the same goal. In the case of A.J., he’s been caught in as many lies as Obama, and while Rivero too may be working for the other side, so far I’ve seen nothing to prove it.
We’re ALL re-learning history, as we simultaneously re-examine and dissect the lies in news and in our former education, so there’s bound to be some mistakes made because we’re not all learning these things in unison.
It’s like a school without teachers, where we all run in different directions to learn things, and then bring them back for further scrutiny, so expect that a lot of mistakes made by well-meaning people may be exactly that; innocent mistakes, and a natural part of the learning process.
Please don’t be too hard on anybody until you have some real proof of their insincerity, because you may alienate some people who are trying their best to help us, and you should value the fact that we’re all entitled to our differing opinions.
And now back to the news:
This shouldn’t be too surprising. Times are hard, and the theft of valuable items should be expected. This was just a “purse-snatching” kind of crime that went bad. In the 70s people were being murdered for their sneakers.
(sneakers = “tennis shoes” in some parts of the country)
