2014: Signs, Seasons and the Coming Tetrad

World Events and the Bible

The next two years mark some very interesting signs in the heavens. In Genesis 1:14 God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.” The word “seasons” (Strong’s: 4150) properly translated means “appointed times.”

In addition to the heavenly lights providing earth with light they also provide man with signs. However, we would like to caution the reader not to make a religion out of any perceived sign in the heavens. Simply digest it and use your own spiritual discernment leaving God’s Word as the ultimate resource on our spiritual path.  

With that in mind, this year the heavens will display the first two of four total lunar eclipses that will occur during 2014 and 2015 which are called a “tetrad” (NASA tetrad). These total lunar eclipses happen to fall on religious holidays. In 2014 we have a total lunar eclipse(blood moon) on April 15th which is Jewish passover for those who claim to be of Judah. Then on October 8th we have the last total lunar eclipse of the year which is a day short of another Jewish holiday called Sukkot, (2014 Celestial Events).

While the heavens on March 20th of 2015 display a total solar eclipse to mark God’s New Year. Followed by the last two total lunar eclipses that occur on, April 4th which is Christian Passover in addition to Jewish passover. The last total lunar eclipse of this tetrad occurs on September 28th which is a day shy of the true birth date of Jesus Christ and the first day of Sukkot another Jewish holiday. There will not be another tetrad that falls on these dates for the foreseeable future, (2015 Celestial Events).

These are interesting signs in the heavens considering the scriptures of Joel 2:30-31,Matthew 24:29-30 and Acts 2:19-20. However, we should understand the scriptures at times have multiple meanings for a single verse. It is possible these scriptures are symbolic in nature. With that in mind we would again caution the reader not to make a religion out of these heavenly signs. This is simply an interesting sight in the heavens we will witness over the next two years. The Lord has asked us all to be watchman, “Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth,” (Isaiah 21:6) that is what we are doing.

In addition to these heavenly signs we have signs upon the earth as well.

We have calls for peace pouring in across the globe, imitating from places like Israel, Syria and Iran which are extremely significant signs to say the least. The United States is currently working with Israel and the Palestinians on a permanent peace treaty they hope to secure this year. If we open God’s Word to Ezekiel 13:16 God said, “To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD.”

There will be no peace for Israel or the world until the True Lord Jesus Christ has returned. Yet, man will continue to try and make a way for their own salvation while at the same unknowingly fulfilling God’s Word.

In Syria we are hearing calls for peace after the three yearlong conflict waged by foreign backed rebels has taken its toll on the government. In addition, Syria was almost attacked by Western Governments until Syria turned over their chemical weapons inventory to the United Nations late last year in a last ditch peace effort that adverted war.

If we turn to Isaiah 17:1 we read, “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.” The destruction of Damascus which has yet to occur is yet another marker for us to keep our eyes on. There is no peace for Syria.

In Iran we also have a push for peace. If we read the eighth chapter of Daniel we will discover there will be no peace for Persia which is Iran of today. Iran will ultimately be destroyed and when it is we will witness the appearance of the false messiah as the scriptures state. All these instances of peace will never materialize into any true peace agreement as the scriptures document.

These are extremely important signs and scriptures that we should all take the time to read in order to gain a better understanding of how the final events of this age unfold.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-2
1 “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”

This scripture does not stop here, pay close attention.

1 Thessalonians 5:3
3 “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.“

Right now we are hearing these calls for peace and safety, but as the scriptures state that will bring sudden destruction upon the world. Daniel 8 is a great example of how it will occur.

1 Thessalonians 5:4
4 “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”

What day? The Day of the Lord. It will not overtake you as a thief. Why?

1 Thessalonians 5:5
5 “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”

We are children of the light, we understand Satan will appear first claiming to be Jesus Christ. This is how the return of the Lord does not overtake us as a thief. Once Satan steps foot upon this earth in Jerusalem claiming to be Christ as 2 Thessalonians 2 states we will instantly recognize him for the liar he is. With that, we will know the return of the True Lord Jesus Christ will be extremely short. This is how the return of Christ does not overtake us as a thief.

1 Thessalonians 5:6 
6 “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”

We are to watch for the return of Christ. Understanding Satan will be cast from Heaven onto earth where he will claim to be Christ is ultimately our sign to let us know we have entered the Tribulation.

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” – Mark 13:37
