Gunfire has been reported at the Champaign campus of the University of Illinois, according to local media. Shots were fired in an alleyway and the shooter has left the area, police say.

Local authorities have confirmed that five people are among the victims of the overnight shooting, according to Champaign City official Twitter account. The city has called upon everyone to provide information that could help the investigation.

Several shots have been fired on Green Street between Third and Fourth streets, the Daily Illini reported, citing an Illini Alert sent out on Sunday morning. The alert recommended local residents to stay away from the area, notifying of more information to come.

Earlier in the day, Sergeant Rickey W. Bell of the University of Illinois Police Department did not confirm or deny any shootings, but added that the crime scene will be closed until at least 6am local time.

The shooting took place outside a local post office and about one block away from ‘The Red Lion’, a popular campus bar.

Initial reports in social media suggested up to nine people were shot, all now hospitalized.

Other conflicting reports claimed one person was killed.

  1. And….onto the next shooting, now that the other one in Washington State is falling apart.

    BORING!!!

Let’s talk about more important things like what’s really happening, like Hitlery and the Middle East war with Syria and Russia, the oil pipelines, etc.

  2. Sergeant Rickey McF–kface: “We can’t confirm or deny the confirmation of the denial while denying the confirming of the denied confirmation subsequent to the confirmed denial of the denied confirmation.”

  3. I guess he went “postal” outside of the Post Office. Tomorrow’s mass shooting is pending. We’ll get it right one of these times. “I see dead people!” Well, I don’t believe anything the government or MSM tells me. Everything’s a national threat, “The sky is falling”. Then, the bullshit threat is broadcast 24/7, imploding everyone with information overload, conflicting stories, achieving confusion of the masses.

“Your problem is our #1 priority! We’ll get right on that after summer break!”

Everything is magnified and exploited for the fear factor to manipulate the masses. Baa, Baa, Baa.

  4. “Initial reports in social media suggested up to nine people were shot, all now hospitalized.”
“Other conflicting reports claimed one person was killed.”

I’m guessin’ there was a drill held nearby recently.
