Covington VA –-(Ammoland.com)- The Maine Governor has signed a Constitutional Carry bill into law, meaning Virginians won’t need a Maine permit to carry concealed when visiting Maine!

BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) – The U.S. military officials announced in March their plan for the largest military exercise to date, to take place in five southern states, including Texas.

The list of things 15-year-olds are not legally allowed to do in Oregon is long: Drive, smoke, donate blood, get a tattoo — even go to a tanning bed.
But, under a first-in-the-nation policy quietly enacted in January that many parents are only now finding out about, 15-year-olds are now allowed to get a sex-change operation. Many residents are stunned to learn they can do it without parental notification — and the state will even pay for it through its Medicaid program, the Oregon Health Plan. PORTLAND, Ore. – The former owners of a Gresham bakery found guilty of discriminating against a lesbian couple have now been told to pay their big fine by Friday.
Melissa and Aaron Klein have been ordered to pay the couple $135,000 for refusing to bake a cake for their wedding.
The decision from Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian also slaps a cease-and-desist order on the Kleins, banning them from advertising their beliefs. Chinese shares made their biggest daily gain in six years Thursday, restoring confidence in Beijing’s suite of attempts to rescue its struggling stock market.
The Shanghai Composite rose 5.8% to 3709.33, after losses in eight of the last 10 trading days. The smaller Shenzhen market rose 3.8%. Still, both indexes have lost around a third of their value in the past month. The small-cap ChiNext board, which has shed some 38% from its June highs, rose 3%. The South Carolina House has approved a bill to remove the Confederate flag from the Statehouse grounds, and the flag could be removed within days.
The move early Thursday came after more than 13 hours of debate.

The graves of Confederate war dead buried at federal cemeteries will likely no longer be decorated with Confederate flags following a vote Tuesday night by the House of Representatives.

A GMO (genetically modified organism) is the result of a laboratory process of taking genes from one species and inserting them into another in an attempt to obtain a desired trait or characteristic, hence they are also known as transgenic organisms. Memphis Mayor A C Wharton Jr. has called for the removal of the statue and remains of the Confederate General and once Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, Nathan Bedford Forrest, from the city park.
The Mayor believes that Nathan Bedford Forrest wanted to be buried somewhere else in the beginning.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said technical problems reported on Wednesday by United Airlines and the New York Stock Exchange were apparently not related to “nefarious” activity.
“I have spoken to the CEO of United, Jeff Smisek, myself. It appears from what we know at this stage that the malfunctions at United and the stock exchange were not the result of any nefarious actor,” Johnson said during a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank. The Army plans to cut 40,000 soldiers from its ranks over the next two years, a reduction that will affect virtually all of its domestic and foreign posts, the service asserts in a document obtained by USA TODAY.
The potential troop cut comes as the Obama administration is pondering its next moves against the Islamic State militant group in Iraq and Syria. President Obama said Monday he and military leaders had not discussed sending additional troops to Iraq to fight the Islamic State. There are about 3,500 troops in Iraq. California lawmakers on Wednesday will consider a bill to regulate electronic cigarettes with the same laws that govern regular cigarettes. Senate Bill 140 would ban “vaping” in restaurants, bars and other workplaces.
A long list of health organizations support the bill as a way to protect young people from addiction to potentially harmful chemicals derived from tobacco. In opposition, e-cigarette industry representatives say they should not be held to the same restrictions as tobacco products because their product is safer.
