A North Texas man is trying to clear his name after he was arrested and cited for allegedly violating a city ordinance for holding a homemade sign warning drivers about speed traps.
Ron Martin, 33, was arrested last October after an officer saw him standing in the median on the Eldorado Parkway in Frisco holding a sign that read “Police ahead,” letting drivers know an officer was waiting at the opposite side of a nearby bridge, MyFoxDFW.com reported. One in seven of New Mexico’s certified Obamacare navigators had a match in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database, according to public records obtained by National Review Online.
In total, 38 health-care guides or certified application counselors received their certification despite a match, according to records from the New Mexico Office of the Superintendent of Insurance (OSI), which certifies navigators working with the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A judge on Wednesday upheld subsidies at the heart of President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul, rejecting one of the main legal challenges to the policy by conservatives opposed to an expansion of the federal government.
A ruling in favor of a lawsuit brought by individuals and businesses in Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia would have crippled the implementation of the law by making health insurance unaffordable for many people. NORFOLK, VA. – A Navy fighter jet crashed Wednesday in Atlantic waters off Virginia’s coast and the pilot has been rescued, a Navy official said. The crash comes a week after a Navy helicopter plunged into the ocean in the region, leaving three dead.
Cmdr. Mike Kafka, a spokesman for Naval Air Forces Atlantic, said the F/A-18E Super Hornet crashed about 2:35 p.m. about 50 miles off Virginia Beach. He said the pilot ejected and was recovered by a fisherman, and then picked up by a Navy helicopter. Kafka said the pilot was conscious, but he gave no other immediate details about the crash or the pilot’s health. China’s holdings of U.S. Treasuries increased $12.2 billion to a record$1.317 trillion in November, data released on the Treasury Department’s website showed.

Israel bombed two targets in the Gaza Strip as a response to earlier fire from across the border, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Palestinians had fired at Israel after an IDF incursion reportedly took place on the Strip’s eastern border.

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Three Russian servicemen and four gunmen were killed in a shootout in southern Russia on Wednesday during a sweep for militants before the Sochi Winter Olympics.

The FBI has so far found no evidence that would warrant the Justice Department filing criminal charges in its investigation into the IRS targeting scandal, federal officials confirm to Fox News.
The findings, which were first reported by The Wall Street Journal, could intensify the debate over the scandal, in which the IRS allegedly targeted Tea Party and other conservative groups applying for non-exempt tax status for special scrutiny.
