A German government watchdog has called on people across the country to wear Jewish skullcaps this weekend in an act of solidarity against anti-Semitism.

Over the weekend, the French Senate approved a bill paving the way forward for restoring Notre Dame cathedral, which nearly burned to the ground back in April in a construction fire. There’s one caveat, however: the cathedral must be returned to its “last known visual state.”
In other words, despite French president Emmanuel Macron’s desire to see parts of the cathedral rebuilt with an eye to more “contemporary architecture,” the French government wants to see Notre Dame returned to its former glory, according to The Local. It’s a David vs Goliath story. A former local newspaper reporter, Robert Stuart, is taking on the British Broadcasting Corporation. Stuart believes that a sensational video story about an alleged atrocity in Syria “was largely, if not entirely, staged.” The BBC would like it all to just go away. But like David, Stuart will not back down or let it go. It has been proposed that the BBC could settle the issue by releasing the raw footage from the event, but they refuse to do this. Why? Crates of unwanted rubbish from the west have accumulated in the ports of the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam while vast toxic wastelands of plastics imported from Europe and the US have built up across Malaysia.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a bill that prohibits Florida’s government agencies from releasing photos, video or audio that record the killing of a person in an act of mass violence.

Israel has struck a Syrian military installation in Quneitra province, near the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, the Israeli army confirmed.

The real estate firm owned by Jared Kushner’s family received approximately $800 million in federally-backed funding to purchase $1.1 billion Mid-Atlantic apartment portfolio in a deal that closed Thursday. Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, the commercial lending company owned by Warren Buffet, provided Kushner Companies with the 10-year $800 million debt package backed by government-owned Freddie Mac, according to a report from Bloomberg. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a close ally of President Donald Trump, suggested the president take a tough stance in dealing with the ongoing Venezuelan crisis: A US invasion similar to the one executed by Ronald Reagan in Grenada back in 1983.
“Trump said rightly, Maduro’s not the legitimate leader of Venezuela. The entire region supports the Trump approach, that Guaidó is the legitimate leader,” Graham said on Fox News Sunday. “I would do exactly what Reagan did. I would give Cuba the ultimatum to get out of Venezuela. If they don’t, I would let the Venezuelan military know, you’ve got to choose between democracy and Maduro. Maine Governor Janet Mills has signed a bill that eliminates religious and philosophical vaccine exemptions. Rep. Ryan Tipping sponsored the bill, titled, LD 798, and it will include both public schools and daycares.
“As we hear more reports of measles and other preventable diseases in Maine and across the country, it has become clear that we must act to ensure the health of our communities,” Tipping said via wgme.com. “I am grateful to my colleagues for working so hard on this bill and to Governor Mills for supporting this measure to protect our kids. More than 95 percent of the students at Thurgood Marshall High School are students of color. Most are Latino or Asian American. None are Jewish. But for the past school year, English teacher Jennifer Banaszek has taken it upon herself to bring Holocaust education to her freshman class at the school in San Francisco’s Bayview district.
