2nd Amendment Foundation, May 15, 2014

Dudley Brown and his “National Association for Gun Rights” (NAGR) have built a reputation by attacking every other major gun rights organization and even pro-gun politicians, to the detriment of the gun rights movement. His rhetoric has done more to marginalize Second Amendment activism than all of the slanders from gun prohibition lobbying groups combined. Now Dudley has spewed his venom toward Alan Gottlieb, a true champion of Second Amendment advocacy with a proven track record of accomplishment. Gottlieb is founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), and chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA).   Continue reading “Dudley Brown’s Despicable Deception”

Britain’s Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond gave a speech in London in which he again spoke about the destabilizing role of Russia in the Ukrainian crisis.

“President Putin’s actions — illegally annexing Crimea and now using Russian troops to destabilize eastern Ukraine – fundamentally undermine the security of sovereign nations of Eastern Europe,” — said Hammond, speaking in the Royal United Services Institute in London.
According to Hammond, Putin is not going to follow the rules accepted in the international community, the goal of which is to keep peace between nations. Quite the opposite he is bent on “subverting it”, due to which Russia is potentially the “single greatest threat to Britain’s security.” Continue reading “Destabilizing the old world order”

Sources in the self-proclaimed Donetsk people’s republic speak about the recent worsening of the military and political situation in the region.

“The situation worsened sharply over the last few days. The number of firefights, which reduced from 107 down to 4–6 before, yesterday again increased to 22,” — the speaker of the People’s Council of the DPR Andrey Purgin told “Interfax”. He said that Kiev didn’t withdraw heavy weapons “properly” and that the economic blockade of the region only gets worse.   Continue reading “DPR militia fighters say that the military and political situation worsened sharply”

Surviving in Argentina – by FerFal

OK, some more great real-world lessons from Ukraine and thoughts being translated from Russian speaking forums. I think some folks here will get an aneurysm when they read about big cities being better, people being stuck in the war zone “because of my farm” and big off-road BOB vehicles not being that great an idea. (off road vehicles are actually being confiscated for official use of either faction, expensive cars are being stolen at checkpoints)
The following quotes have been translated by Sygata from a Russian forum and he kindly let me use them here. I fixed a few typos and spelling errors here and there for clarity.    Continue reading “More Great real-world Survival Lessons from Ukraine”

Because since the first day after the moment of the crash of the Malaysian “Boeing” I adhere to the version where the airplane was shot down by the Ukrainian SU-25 attack jet, I simply cannot refrain from publishing a new investigation, which summarizes the arguments on this topic.

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s brother, Tony Rodham, sat on the board of a self-described mining company that in 2012 received one of only two “gold exploitation permits” from the Haitian government—the first issued in over 50 years.

The tiny North Carolina company, VCS Mining, also included on its board Bill Clinton’s co-chair of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC), former Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive.   Continue reading “Gold Mine: Hillary Clinton’s Brother Granted Super-Rare Mining Permit From Haiti After State Dept. One of my best friends called me up yesterday to urge me, to plead with me, not to go to Spokane. He had a lot of reasons why. One point he raised was that some in the open carry/We Will Not Comply movement seem to be determined to become “scarier than the people they oppose” by “dressing like operators in Iraq” and “wearing masks and clown get-up.” He pointed out the long-ago critique of a leftist looking back on the anti-war movement who bemoaned that they lost the larger argument when the anti-warriors, through riots and Weatherman actions, “became scarier than the Vietnam War itself.” Anthony, I pointed out, was dressed in a suit and tie. “Yeah,” he retorted, “but the press didn’t run his picture, did they?” He has a point.   Continue reading “Why Spokane. We previously reported that Americans are 9 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than aterrorist.

But it turns out that our numbers were incorrect …

This isn’t surprising, given that:

Reliable estimates of the number of justifiable homicides committed by police officers in the United States do not exist.” A study of killings by police from 1999 to 2002 in the Central Florida region found that the national databases included (in Florida) only one-fourth of the number of persons killed by police as reported in the local news media.   Continue reading “You’re 55 Times More Likely to be Killed by a Police Officer than a Terrorist”

East London resident Martin Le-May captured this incredible photo of a baby weasel on the back of a green woodpecker in Essex, England, on Monday

As much as we’d all like to believe this is a wondrous tale of friendship wherein two mates go on an epic adventure featuring a baby weasel and his magnificent flying steed, sadly it’s NOT. It’s a photo of a weasel trying to kill a woodpecker.   Continue reading ““Life and death upon one tether / And running beautiful together.””

“The enemy will pass slowly from the offensive to the defensive. The blitzkrieg will transform itself into a war of duration. Thus, the enemy will be caught in a dilemma: He has to drag out the war in order to win it, and does not possess, on the other hand, the psychological and political means to fight a long, drawn-out war.”

– Robert Taber, The War of the Flea

The DoD and the Army have now inaugurated yet another iteration of the constant doctrinal battle to balance irregular warfare and conventional warfare. Since the beginning, the US armed forces have struggled to deliver on a force concept that could do either or both well. As William Lind has pointed out eloquently, the US and western powers have enunciated the generations of warfare, but failed to deliver on advancing through the sequence or even gleaning the wisdom they hold.   Continue reading “Generations of War in the New Century by Bill Buppert”

American Jews sympathetic to Israel dominate key positions in all areas of our government where decisions are made regarding the Middle East. This being the case, is there any hope of ever changing U.S. policy? American Presidents as well as most members of Congress support Israel — and they know why. U.S. Jews sympathetic to Israel donate lavishly to their campaign coffers.

The answer to achieving an even-handed Middle East policy might lie elsewhere — among those who support Israel but don’t really know why. This group is the vast majority of Americans. They are well-meaning, fair-minded Christians who feel bonded to Israel — and Zionism — often from atavistic feelings, in some cases dating from childhood.   Continue reading “What Christians Don’t Know About Israel”

As the world contemplates the various ‘provocation’ scenarios – a Russian act, a CIA act meant to look like a Russian act, or a Russian act meant to look like a CIA act?the following clip suggests this was anything but an ad hoc shooting…

The narrator suggests, as Nemtsov and his companion are walking along the road, a garbage truck (or cleaning vehicle) is behind them. When the garbage truck comes alongside the couple, it slows down, then moves ahead, then stops… and another man leaves the vehicle and jumps in a following car, which speeds away with tires smoking…   Continue reading “Caught On Tape: The Moment Boris Nemtsov Was Assassinated”
