Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser on Wednesday issued an order mandating that people in the district wear facial coverings when they are outside, while carving out large exceptions for city and federal workers on the job.

If you don’t wear a mask in Miami, it’ll cost you — $50 for the first offense, $100 for the second, and $500 every time after that.
Miami-Dade County has the state’s most COVID-19 infections reported per 100,000 people and the highest death toll, The Miami Herald reports. To try to slow the spread of the coronavirus, people in Miami must wear face masks while in outdoor and indoor public settings, with few exceptions. Former Vice President Joe Biden is now a criminal suspect in Ukraine in a case involving his son Hunter and Burisma Holdings, a major Ukrainian natural gas producer.
Biden, the Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee has been formally listed in a criminal case for the crime of firing Ukraine’s former Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in exchange for dropping an investigation into his son Hunter, who was a board member at Burisma from 2014 to 2019. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will now require travelers from 31 states to self-quarantine for 14 days to limit the spread of coronavirus as cases continue to surge across the country.
Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday announced that 10 new states had been added to the list: Alaska, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Virginia, Washington. The White House cast aside protests from local government officials Tuesday about the deployment of armed federal officers to quell protests inside cities that say they don’t want assistance as President Trump demands ‘law and order.’
The administration is planning to send 150 federal agents to combat violence in Chicago, but for now is not saying which agency they will come from or what their mission will be. At least six missiles were reported to have hit targets in the southern part of Syria’s capital city of Damascus, according to state media. The strikes targeted Shi’ite militia facilities, wounding at least seven people.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says that the strikes targeted “pro-Iranian” sites, as is generally the case when Israel attacks Syria. As part of a $25,000 deal made in June, Wohl and his lobbyist colleague Jack Burkman also allegedly pushed to get New York US Attorney Geoffrey Berman, who had led Epstein’s case, fired in order to stall or stop the criminal investigation into Maxwell. The New York Times is publishing a story on where Tucker Carlson and his family live, to which the Fox News host called an “incitement to violence” against his family that has nothing to do with journalism.

Syrian air defenses have engaged incoming “hostile targets” in the capital city of Damascus, state media reported. Footage circulating online shows explosions in the skies above the city.

CNN is reporting late this week that US intelligence has observed that Iran has put parts of its anti-air missile defense system on “high alert” following multiple unexplained blasts and fires and sensitive military, industrial, and nuclear sites.
The report cites “several” intelligence indications according to the unnamed intel official. It also comes at a moment of wide speculation that either Israel or the US is behind some of the recent spate of explosions.
