There is once again much attention paid to “assault weapons” because of the recent shooting in Orlando.  And, as I have said on many occasions, the reason for this is the presupposition of the liberal.  If all people are basically good, why are there still so many shootings?  The answer is access to firearms.

Shaun Deane of the Birmingham Police Department had come to the other officer’s precinct looking for a report, according to WBRC. While some lawmakers want to require drug screening and testing for welfare and other assistance program applicants, this idea has inspired one US congresswoman to call for the rich to be drug tested if they wish to take advantage of tax deductions.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker put a lot of time and energy into passing legislation that has given Wisconsin the right to drug test participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). He is not alone either. On Tuesday the Central Intelligence Agency released 50 new documents which add even more detail to the disturbing use of torture, humiliation, and rendition. The documents depict brutal torture and paint a clear picture of CIA officials desperately working to suppress evidence of their actions. Canadian lawmakers voted on Wednesday to alter the country’s national anthem to make the lyrics gender neutral, a move that comes as the new Liberal government focuses on being more inclusive toward women.

An intense heat wave over the southwestern US has been forecast for the coming weekend and will likely continue to cause extremely high temperatures throughout the beginning of the next week. Temperatures between 10 and 15 °F (5.5 and 8.3 °C) above average are expected throughout June 17 and 18, 2016 across most of the central and southern Plains while factoring in humidity and heat indices could reach between 100 and 110 degrees F in some areas. A Maryland medical examiner twice told investigators that the death of black detainee Freddie Gray from a broken neck in a police van was an accident, a Baltimore detective testified on Thursday.

In a Wednesday Fox News interview, Speaker Paul Ryan seemed to suggest that the reason the House has not pushed Kate’s Law is because he is opposed to “clogging up our jails” with illegal alien drunk drivers.

Kate’s Law—named in honor of Kate Steinle—would increase the penalty for illegal immigrants who return to the U.S. after being deported. Last year, Steinle was gunned down in broad daylight by a five-time deported criminal alien. Why do so many of our young people instantly break down in tears the moment anything seriously offends them?  Have we raised an entire generation that has been so coddled and that is so spineless that it is completely incapable of dealing with the harsh realities of the modern world?  At colleges and universities all over America, students are now demanding “safe spaces” where anything and everything that could possibly make them feel “uncomfortable” is banned.  And “trigger warnings” are being placed on some of our great literary classics because they might cause some students to feel “unsafe” because they may be reminded of a past trauma.  In this day and age, our overly coddled young people have come to expect that they should be automatically shielded from anything that could remotely be considered harmful or offensive, and as a result we now have an entire generation that is completely lacking in toughness.  That may be fine as long as you can depend on Mom and Dad, but how in the world are these young men and women going to handle the difficult challenges that come with living in the real world?   Continue reading “Generation Snowflake: Safe Spaces, Trigger Warnings And The Wussification Of Our Young People”
