Whiz Bang – by Warner Todd Huston
On Friday a group of left-wing “ministers” in some little-known “social justice” organization was given the platform of The New York Times to flog their ideas on how to ban guns. Their idea was to use the “buying power” the US government ostensibly has to force gun manufacturers to toe the gun banning line or face a reduction in federal guns and ammo purchases. Essentially, these purported ministers want to use the federal government’s buying status as a way to make an end run around the courts and the Constitution. It has been confirmed that Anthony Hervey died in the car wreck.
When I was in Oxford, MS last August, I personally witnessed the vitriol that was directed largely toward Anthony Hervey, who has been physically attacked for his beliefs in the past. I also saw part of the exchange between an irate group of local blacks and HK Edgerton in Birmingham yesterday. I mentioned that in my article earlier. I never thought it would go to the level of stalking someone after they left the event, running them off the road in another state, maybe even killing them. Everyone seems to be focusing on Greece these days – a country so indebted that it needs even more loans to repay just a fraction of its gigantic credits. Clearly this is unsustainable and something has to give. Even the IMF agrees.
But what about the other Southern European countries? Continue reading “Portugal’s Debts Are (Also) Unsustainable”

The cult of “science” has a fetish for trying to amalgamate humanity with machine. And its latest endeavor in this pursuit has taken the form of an emerging brain implant technology that would render humans part flesh, part computer.
Researchers from the University of California, Berkeley (UCB), have come up with a concept they’ve dubbed “neural dust” that they say can be implanted into people’s brains for data collection purposes. And the technology is reportedly so small that humans wouldn’t even know it was inside their heads. As Jan10 pointed out, I’m looking at these photos of the suspect’s car in the parking lot of the Navy support center in Chattanooga and I notice there doesn’t appear to be any damage done to the front end of the vehicle. The bumper is fine. The airbags didn’t go off. And even the headlights got through the crash without a scratch that I can see. Throughout the centuries, plants have developed many defense mechanisms to protect themselves from foraging animals. Some of them prove to be a skin irritant when touched, as in the case of nettles and poison ivy. Others cause severe reactions and even death on ingestion.
The famous Poison Garden in England’s Alnwick Garden houses about 100 of the most dangerous plants. There, they warn visitors not to not even smell the flowers. It’s not rare for some people to take this warning lightly to their regret. Continue reading “7 Innocent-Looking Plants That Could Kill You”

Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen urged lawmakers to tread lightly when it comes to overhauling the central bank, warning that proposed changes could undermine its ability to support the economy.

Democrats are pushing for a new executive order that would allow the President to delay and suspend gun purchases indefinitely!

The controversial military drill spanning seven states known as Jade Helm 15 has officially begun, but with no media allowed to cover the exercises, people have taken to Twitter to speculate on and poke fun at the hysteria surrounding the war games.

Little is officially known about the drills, but analysts have suggested they may be simulating scenarios in which American troops engage Islamic State militants in the Middle East as well as other adversaries.
