The CDC recently admitted that this year’s flu shot likely won’t protect you from the flu, but did it ever? Though the CDC has issued a formal apology regarding the issue for this season, flu vaccinations have long been seen as ineffective by a horde of experts. But don’t worry – here you will find more than 20 natural flu remedies using natural antivirals.

No surprise here, but there won’t be any refund for insurance companies or patients who have already taken a flu vaccination early as preparation for the 2015 flu season in January and February, despite the CDC’s admission of its inefficacy.   Continue reading “21 Natural Alternatives to the Flu Shot”

War is Boring – by Matthew Gault

American taxpayers have spent more than $100 billion on thousands of reconstruction projects in Afghanistan—everything from new prisons, bases and barracks to weapons and airplanes for Afghan security forces.

The idea was that the U.S. would leave Afghanistan in a better state than it found it. The reality is that military and civilian officials wasted billions of dollars in reconstruction funds on incomplete, botched and unnecessary projects.   Continue reading “Here’s How the Military Wasted Your Money in Afghanistan”

The U.S. economy, despite rosy characterizations by President Obama recently, is still abysmal for far too many Americans who are still struggling to make ends meet, put food on the table and remain in their homes — a condition that will only worsen with the president’s recent executive amnesty, “legalizing” millions of illegal aliens.

Some of the country’s historically poor states — many of them in the South — have been especially hard-hit, as a recent report from Kentucky points out. Local station WKYT in Lexington says that not only has hunger remained a “huge issue” in the state — one food pantry says one-in-seven Kentuckians are receiving food assistance from any number of charities — but it is even a problem on the state’s college campuses.   Continue reading “America in decline: 1 in 7 Kentuckians now rely on food banks”

Derivatives - Banksters - Public DomainThe Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

If the quadrillion dollar derivatives bubble implodes, who should be stuck with the bill?  Well, if the “too big to fail” banks have their way it will be you and I.  Right now, lobbyists for the big Wall Street banks are pushing really hard to include an extremely insidious provision in a bill that would keep the federal government funded past the upcoming December 11th deadline.  This provision would allow these big banks to trade derivatives through subsidiaries that are federally insured by the FDIC.  What this would mean is that the big banks would be able to continue their incredibly reckless derivatives trading without having to worry about the downside.  If they win on their bets, the big banks would keep all of the profits.  If they lose on their bets, the federal government would come in and bail them out using taxpayer money.  In other words, it would essentially be a “heads I win, tails you lose” proposition.   Continue reading “New Law Would Make Taxpayers Potentially Liable For TRILLIONS In Derivatives Losses”

Gold Silver World – by Matthew Weller

On Friday gold fell back in the immediate aftermath of the strong US payrolls report, which boosted the appetite for equities and the dollar. Prior to the jobs report, the price of gold had stabilized around $1200 per troy ounce following Monday’s sharp recovery. It was thus holding above the high of not just last week but the last month, too. In other words, precious metals traders had completely gotten over the disappointment from the “No” vote in Switzerland’s “Save Our Swiss Gold” proposal. Gold has more than recovered from that disappointment and even the stronger jobs report has so far not caused a major reaction, at least relative to Monday’s price swing. Indeed, at the time of this writing gold was still displaying a large bullish outside candle on the weekly chart, as evidenced by the first chart below. Should the weekly candle also close this way then it would suggest further gains could follow next week.   Continue reading “First Signs Of Gold And The Dollar Decoupling”

OSTROMECHEVO, BELARUS—The fisherman wanted his photo shot with a beaver. The beaver had other ideas: It attacked the 60-year-old man with razor-sharp teeth, slicing an artery and causing him to bleed to death.

It was the most serious in a string of beaver attacks on humans in Belarus, as the rodents have turned increasingly aggressive when confronted by humans after wandering near homes, shops and schools.

The Independent – by ANDREW BUNCOMBE

Smokers in the US state of Arizona could soon be forced to decide just how much they enjoy lighting up.

Officials in Pima County, which includes the city of Tuscon, are set to consider new rules that would prohibit the hiring of people who smoke and charging current employees who do partake additional sums for their health insurance.

The authorities believe the move could save more than $1m in reduced health care costs. But some observers have said the move would amount to workplace discrimination.   Continue reading “Officials in Arizona could stop employing people who smoke”
