The government of the Russian Federation has reached an agreement with the authorities in Cuba to reopen an electronic communications listening base that was built by the Soviets during the Cold War. Russian newspaper Kommersant said on Wednesday that the agreement between the two nations was struck late last week during a visit to the communist-run island by Russian President Vladimir Putin.  

The agreement centers on the Lourdes signals intelligence (SIGINT) facility, located just outside Cuban capital Havana. Situated approximately 100 miles from the United States mainland, the facility was used throughout the last two decades of the Cold War to provide intelligence for Soviet military and civilian spy agencies, while also operating as an overseas communications hub for the Soviet Navy.    Continue reading “Russia to reopen electronic listening command post in Cuba”

While there are various questions that have already emerged from what was supposed to be Ukraine’s “slam dunk” proof confirming Russian rebel involvement in today’s MH-17 tragedy, perhaps one just as gaping question emerges when one looks at what is clearly an outlier flight path in today’s final, and tragic, departure of the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777.

A few cities in Texas have passed laws requiring the acceptance of same sex marriage. San Antonio, passed a regulation requiring those who wish to obtain a city contract or do business with the city must accept the same sex marriage concept. San Antonio along with Austin, Houston is a hot bed of liberalism. Primarily because folks from the northeast and California keep moving here where they can find a job and enjoy the good life we Texans have. So far this year, 400 out of state people have moved to the DFW area per day. Coming from liberal states these folks rarely take time to figure out that the reasons Texas is a good place for business is less government interference, lower taxes, a conservative attitude with emphasis on capitalism with a strong religious base. It is also a place were folks do not like being told what to do by the government. NEW YORK – Bank of America, the second largest US bank, Wednesday reported second quarter net income of $2.3 billion, a 43 percent drop compared to $3.4 billion a year earlier, after a fall in mortgage revenue and a rise in legal costs.

The bank’s earnings fell to $2.3 billion in large part due to $4 billion in litigation expenses. The Bloods have vowed to kill more Jersey City cops to avenge the thug the police shot dead this week after he executed a rookie officer, The Post has learned.

The violent street gang has threatened to “kill a Jersey City cop and not stop until the National Guard is called out,” a senior law enforcement source revealed.
